Here’s a WTF for you if there ever was one.

40-year-old Vincent ‘Vinny’ Cordero Barber of Stone Mountain, Georgia was on trial in Dekalb County last week for molesting the 13-year-old girl back in 2007 who babysat his children. He’s already pleaded guilty to two lesser charges in two other related cases but this was the big one.

Barber has been out on bond and on Monday when everyone left the trial for their lunch break he never showed back up. I guess he could see which way the wind was blowing for him and he decided to take a powder.

The judge in the case issued a warrant for Barber’s arrest for Failure to Appear and even though he took off jury deliberations took place in the case yesterday. Barber was found guilty of Statutory Rape and Child Molestation. He was sentenced to  Life without parole plus 40 years.

Barber shouldn’t have been on the streets in the first place. Since 2002 he’s been arrested in Dekalb County for Rape, Impersonating a Public Officer, Robbery, Contempt of Court, Aggravated Sodomy (more than once), Child Molestation (more than once), Statutory Rape (more than once), Aggravated Child Molestation, Forgery, Fraud and various traffic violations, enough for him to have lost his license or had it suspended.

Police in Dekalb County were able to arrest 19-year-old Trever Deion Blue late last night/early this morning after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 21-year-old woman. Luckily for her she managed to escape from Blue and the police apprehended the man.

The young woman was forced at gunpoint back into her car shortly after arriving home last night. She managed to get away from the alleged sack of shit, alerted her neighbors who called police and once they got to the apartment complex were able to chase him down.

Blue has been linked to at least 12 attacks on women in the area and he is currently lodged in the Dekalb County Jail with no bond. He is currently charged with Kidnapping, Aggravated Sexual Battery and Aggravated Sodomy according to his booking record. He is apparently facing more charges including Aggravated Sodomy, Armed Robbery, Rape, Attempted Rape, Kidnapping, Burglary, Aggravated Sexual Battery and Aggravated Assault. They just need to bury this bastard under the jail.

While Blue hasn’t confessed to the crime, according to Dekalb Police he has made some incriminating statements since his arrest.

I wrote about 61-year-old Roger Stephens at another site last year but just to refresh your memory of the old fart Stephens is the man who slapped a two-year-old girl in the Wal-Mart in Stone Mountain, Georgia last year after he told her mother “If you don’t shut that baby up, I will shut her up for you.”

Nice.

Anyway, Stephens was sentenced yesterday to a year in jail after a bench trial was held. Both the defense and prosecutor agreed that a jury trial wasn’t needed. Personally I think Stephens would have gotten even more time than he did if a jury of his peers had anything to do with it, although getting a room full of snarling old men together at once probably wouldn’t have been a good idea.
