After a four-month long investigation into Neal Ray Schmidt of St. Louis, Missouri and his activities online the man traveled to Henry County, Georgia to ostensibly meet with a minor for sex, which is where he was arrested Monday night.

Schmidt is alleged to have used his computer to arrange a meeting with the minor ahead of time. He is also alleged to have distributed around 50 images of suspected child pornography over the Internet. The investigation was conducted by the Henry County PD Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. Schmidt is accused of having used Yahoo Instant Messenger to contact the child on Monday prior to traveling to Georgia.

When the 58-year-old man was arrested he had a .380 pistol in his pocket as well as three knives located on his person and an addition handgun in his brief case.

Neal Schmidt has been charged with Use of a Computer Service to Seduce, Solicit or Entice a Child to Commit an Illegal Act, Criminal Attempt to Commit Child Molestation, Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. He is lodged in the Henry County Jail on $60,000 bond.

Stories like this seem to be getting more and more commonplace. Mother of child at work while unemployed boyfriend watches the kids. Child ends up dead or severely beaten. Just insert different names and places and you have a pretty high percentage of the bottom-feeding scum-suckers out there. Sorry to any catfish out there, I don’t mean to demean you by comparing shit-suckers like 24-year-old Kraig A Monroe of St. Louis to you guys.

Monroe, an unemployed roofer, was watching two-year-old Amanda Runyon while her mother was at work at a nursing home. Over a period of four days this past week Monroe would beat the little girl to stop her from crying (yeah, I’ll bet that worked well). Amanda would sit in her little Elmo chair while Kraig Monroe would repeatedly punch her in the stomach. Perhaps he thought she was making fun of his freakishly ugly nose? The world will never know I’m sure.

By the time that her mommy took her to Memorial Hospital in Belleville (a suburb of St. Louis) on Monday morning Amanda was vomiting, lethargic and dropping in and out of consciousness. She was transported to Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis later that day. The next day she went through surgery to remove about 25% of her intestines. Holy Crap! When my oldest daughter was born she had a condition called jujeunal atresia (sp?). Basically it meant that a portion of her small intestine had never expanded so all the shit was literally backing up and coming out the wrong way. She went through surgery to remove 10cm of her small intestine. For a while they weren’t sure if she was even going to live and she ended up spending 42 days in the ICU at Scottish Rite in Atlanta. I can only imagine what poor Amanda must be going through right now, particularly since mommy, her protector, let that piece of fucking garbage beat the life half out of her.

As of yesterday afternoon the little girl was still in critical condition. She’s on a feeding tube and may end up being on one the rest of her life if she manages to live through the surgery. Of course this isn’t even counting the fact that she has a lacerated ulcer, her fucking leg is broken and she also has a previously broken arm that’s still healing and large clumps of hair missing where it had been yanked from her head. She’s currently in a medically induced coma to help the healing process.

Along with Monroe, Amanda and her mother, Monroe’s 5-year-old daughter and Amanda’s two siblings lived in their trailer (what a surprise…) Of course Monroe’s daughter got to sleep in a bed while Amanda and her siblings slept on the floor.

When police went into the trailer they found drug paraphernalia (another surprise, huh?) and a pit bull (damn, it just keeps getting uglier). The trailer was allegedly disgustingly filthy, a trash bin according to police.

According to St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department Captain Steve Johnson,

The Illinois Supreme Court does not allow me to talk toward the character of a person, but I can tell you in my experience as a law enforcement officer, that a person who is convicted of this, in these extreme nature of injuries, is just a waste of human space.

How fucking appropriate. Well, I am not law enforcement and I have no problem saying what a piece of human excrement Kraig Monroe is.

Want to know something else pretty sad? DCFS paid the trailer a visit last week, observing her broken leg and arm and never reported the possible abuse to police. WTF is up with that? DCFS claims that they called the Belleville Police and the chief of police Bill Clay says they are completely lying and only contacted his office to ask for an address for Amanda’s parents. Pass the buck, anyone? Hopefully someone in St. Louis will have the guts to stand up and let that buck stop but somehow I highly doubt it.

Monroe is currently charged with Aggravated Battery and the mother may end up facing neglect charges as well.
