46-year-old Wendy Lynette Beardslee has been missing since October 29th when she was last seen at the Atlanta International Airport.
The Atlanta Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating her.
Wendy is 5’2″, 125lbs, brunette and has blue eyes. The APD is asking anyone who sees her to call 911.
I don’t do a lot of missing person stories but this is local so I wanted to get it out her.
21-year-old Marcelle ‘Marcy’ Elliot disappeared from Carrollton, Georgia on Thursday night. Marcy is a student at the University of West Georgia and is out on summer break right now but was visiting friends near the campus on Lovvorn Road.
Police have recovered Elliot’s car which was parked where she left it at The Loft, an apartment complex in Carrollton. A witness at the complex saw Elliot arrive, get out of the car and walk around the building. There has been no cell phone or debit card usage on her accounts since Thursday and while police say they don’t suspect foul play they aren’t ruling anything out.
How can they not suspect foul play after six days?
Police are going door to door and searching the woods and vacant homes near the apartment building Marcy was visiting.
I don’t do a ton of missing person stories but this was sent to me from a reader earlier this evening.
27-year-old Melanie “Mel Vega” Munoz of Houston, Texas has been missing since Friday June 4th. Melanie was last seen leaving Spring, Texas driving a 1998 dark blue Ford Taurus with Texas plates TGN-919.
Melanie is 5’5”, 130lbs, she is Hispanic with Brown eyes and auburn hair. Melanie has tattoos of a city skyline and Pegasus/night sky on her lower right arm and the queen of hearts on her upper left arm. She was last seen wearing a navy blue v-neck t-shirt and blue jeans.

20-year-old Morgan Dana Harrington, the VT student who went missing during a Metallica concert at the John Paul Johns Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia on October 17th, 2009 has most likely been located according to police reports as well as comments from her family.
The partially skeletal remains of a female with long blond hair were found on a farm about ten miles from the arena. Although law enforcement says that they have to wait until the autopsy for a concrete identification they do seem pretty positive that the body belongs to Morgan Harrington due to “evidence” found with the body.
The evidence is apparently clothing believed to have belonged to Morgan which was found near the body.
I have been following this story since last October although this is the first time I’ve posted about it since I figured everyone else had already put up all of the same information.
A Man walking his dog over the weekend found the skeletal remains of a human in Norcross, GA in the woods near Forest Vale Drive. Police were called to the scene and the remains were transported to the morgue to be examined. A preliminary autopsy did find them to be human but that is pretty much all of the information they are releasing at this time other than the fact that the person appeared to have been dead for several months.
Since the cause of death is still under investigation it is being investigated as a possible homicide.
While it’s been longer than just a few months back, in November of 2007 Justin Gaines went missing from Wild Bill’s, a bar which is a short distance away from where the body was found.
Justin and a friend has been partying at Wild Bill’s and his friend had already gone home for the evening. When Justin called him later on to try and get a ride home he was unable to provide it. Justin was never seen or heard from again.
Updated 12/15/09 – The remains have been identified as belonging to a female victim between 15 and 21 years of age. They are being investigated as a homicide but police have not released the cause of death.
There was clothing found with the remains that police have described in hopes of identifying the woman. They include American Eagle jeans, a light green T-shirt, a black and red Old Navy t-shirt, a fruit of the loom t-shirt, a white and red v-neck t-shirt, an orange polo style shirt, Mossimo jeans, black shorts, black sweatpants with a maroon and gold stripe, a black sports bra, a leopard print bra and black plaid boxers.
Updated 12/17/09 – The remains have been identified as 16-Year-Old Maritza Yepez, who has been missing since August 23rd.
The girl, who was living with her aunt at the time of her disappearance, was reported missing as a runaway. She was identified through her dental records.
Police are investigating her death as a homicide and suspect that she was murdered.

An Amber Alert was issued yesterday for the one-month-old. Angel Miguel Perez was born on 10/17/09, weighs 11 lbs. He was wearing a blue shirt, blue pants, white shoes and a blue hat. The suspect in the abduction is a black woman in her mid-twenties with shoulder length hair and a medium complexion. She was seen wearing a blue and white striped shirt and boots and fled the area in a grey or silver Honda Accord with a rear spoiler.
Anyone with information on either one is asked to please call the North Charleston Police at 843-822-1128.

Investigators with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department are currently searching for 20-Year-Old Jessica Caroline Proctor, who has been missing from Martinez, Georgia since October 31st. She was last seen at her home getting into a car with a woman known as ‘Janice’ on the 31st.
Proctor, who also goes by Misty, has several tattoos on her arm, wrist, back and leg. She is 5’2″, 136lbs. Her MySpace profile lists her as single but she does have at least one child who I know would like to see Jessica.

One thing I found curious is that on her MySpace page the father of her son left the comment on November 12th “hope u know u loose all progress and i dont plan on talkin to ur fucked up ass anymore and im sick of the fuckin lame ass excuses”.

This is a story I followed late last year while Steve Huff was still writing for the True Crime Report.
28-Year-Old Kelly Currin Morris went missing on September 3rd 2008 when she allegedly went to look for the family dog. Her husband, Scott Morris, said that she just ‘never came home’. The thing is, he didn’t report her missing until September 4th when there was a fire at the Morris home, so the search didn’t begin until then. Her 2005 Honda Accord was located about a mile from the home, locked, with her purse, cell phone and keys still inside it.
On the 10th of September the Granville County Sheriff anounced that during the search a ‘dim light’ of hope remained in their minds but that everyone was afraid something bad had happened to Kelly.
September 12th it was announced that the fire was an act of arson. At the time some of the searchers publically wondered why Scott Morris hadn’t taken part in the search for his wife. By the 14th Morris was named as a ‘person of interest’ in her disappearance. According to commenters on other sites and interviews with neighbors there was a feeling of strife in the marriage. The official search effort stalled around this time and although searchers would continue looking for her body law enforcement was at a loss to explain what had happened to Kelly Currin Morris, beloved mother of two small children.
Over the last year rumors have trickled back and forth on several blogs from commenters who state that Scott Morris had killed someone prior to Kelly’s disappearance and gotten away with it. Obviously these are just allegations and I have yet to find anywhere with an actual report or media release on the subject.
David Lohr over at the Criminal Report Daily, along with Blink on Crime (linked as the source) are both reporting that the remains of Kelly Currin Morris may have been found. Details in the discovery are pretty sketchy right now but the human remains have apparently been found at a fox hunting club in Creedmoor, North Carolina.
Police took William Scott Morris into custody last night and booked him at the Oxford Magistrate’s Office. Police are not releasing the reason for his arrest. The Granville County Sheriff is reporting, however, that there will be a press conference today at 4 p.m.
A judge signed a court order granting temporary custody of the children to Kelly’s parents. A hearing on that will be held Friday.
The last few days the disappearance of Yale grad student Annie Le has been all over the news. She was last seen entering a medical research building Tuesday at around 10 A.M. and has not been seen since. Yale has offered a $10,000 reward in the disappearance of Le, who was to be married this week in New York.
Bloody clothes were found hidden in ceiling tiles in the building where Le was last seen as well and investigators were testing those clothes earlier today.
The latest news I’ve seen is that police have now announced that it’s no longer a missing person’s case. They have declared it a homicide and police in New Haven have found the remains of a person in the Amistad Building of Yale and are assuming it is Le but will not confirm that it is in fact her.
Updated – Police have positively identified the body as that of Annie Le. They also now have a suspect in the murder. Several of the reports I’ve read state that it is a student, however the New Haven Police have said a couple of times that no students are involved in the case. They are also saying they are pretty sure this was no random violence and that the murderer was someone who knew Annie.
Update II – Reports from earlier this evening where that a student had been questioned and had failed a lie detector test. They also said that the suspect had defensive wounds. A police spokesman is denying reports that they have a suspect in custody.

Updated 1/4/2011 – The remains of Kristi Cornwell were located by her brother on New Year’s Day. Carringer is suspected of the abduction and murder. I have updated the story here.
Update 2 8/15/09: About three and a half miles from where law enforcement have been concentrating their search efforts a man cutting his lawn found a cell phone yesterday. The Union County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that it is the cell phone belonging to Kristi Cornwell. Hopefully they can get more information from the cell phone. The only other leads they have right now are two cars that witnesses say were driving slowly through the area of Jones Creek road.
Updated 8/13/09: I’ve found a picture of Kristi Cornwell and have added it to the post. When I get a better one I will add it as well.
According to the GBI they have found some of her belongings in the area where she was last seen walking but they won’t release any information that is possible evidence. They are also looking to question several persons of interest, criminals with lengthy legal backgrounds that live in the four counties around that area. I will update the story as needed.
A lot of people have posted comments on her Facebook page, waiting for her to be found. Having been a couple of days now those hopes are fading and I am afraid that something bad has happened to Kristi.
Original Post: According to local papers and newscasts 38-year-old Kristi Cornwell was last seen walking along Jones Creek Road in Blairsville and hasn’t been seen or heard from since then. The GBI and Union County Sheriff’s Department are working together and have very little to go on right now.
Cornwell is a white female with dark hair, five feet five inches tall and weighs in at about 150lbs. The area she was walking in is a rural area close to her house in Blairsville.
According to an emailed report from the Cobb County church that Cornwell’s boyfriend Douglas Davis attends, he was speaking with her on the phone as she walked. She allegedly told him a car was stopping near her and then started screaming “Don’t take me”. Kristi Cornwell’s family and Davis have all declined to comment so far.
Anybody that has information that might be relevant to the case has been asked to contact the Union County Sheriff’s Department at 706-439-6066. Just as soon as I get a picture of Kristi Cornwell I will update the post with it.
I’m not sure exactly what it is but something about this strikes me as odd, aside from the fact that she is missing of course.
