    21-year-old Cassandra Elyse Norwood of Athens, Georgia is currently jailed on charges of Malice Murder, Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault after her newborn baby was found stabbed to death on Thursday. She is under guard at the hospital while she is being treated for blood loss from giving birth. She will be transferred to the Clarke County Jail when she is healthy enough (supposedly earlier this morning.)

    Norwood allegedly stabbed her little boy at the home where she lives with her parents. According to police the baby was born at home and she was alone in one part of the house where she delivered her own baby unbeknownst to other family members. Law enforcement believe that the child was only alive a short time but haven’t determined yet exactly how long. The GBI will perform an autopsy.

    Someone in the family found the dead child and called 911 yesterday afternoon, informing the operator that a newborn boy had been stabbed.

    After investigators determined that a murder had taken place they secured the residence and started interviewing family members.

  • Massachusetts Man Kills Children Then Self

    Saturday night a family member of 41-year-old Daryl Benway found the bodies of Benway and his seven-year-old daughter Abigail shot dead in the master bedroom of their home in Oxford, Massachusetts. Benway’s nine-year-old son was also found shot in the head in the kitchen and was rushed to UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center.

    Benway’s brother apparently found the bodies and called 911. A short time later, Unaware of what had happened, Daryl’s wife arrived home to find police cars and TV crews sitting outside the home. The two had separated a few weeks ago.

    Apparently in addition to being separated from his wife Benway was also unemployed, having recently lost his job. His wife had moved out three or four weeks ago, getting an apartment in Worcester. Shortly before noon yesterday Mrs Benway posted “It’s about time I took control of my own life” on her FB page. Neighbors also say that they heard her car leave the home in a hurry yesterday afternoon according to the Telegram.

    One of the things I quit doing last year (with rare exceptions) was to stop posting links to the personal pages on social networking sites. It’s in rather bad taste and usually some of their victims (including family members) are linked from them. Unfortunately I guess this is something the mainstream media is now getting into because at least one of the major outlets in Massachusetts has posted Benway’s Facebook page where there are now appearing lots of comments from people who have nothing to do with the family. I’ve already left a couple of nasty comments for the douchebags at one of the news sites, although I’m sure they’ll be deleted soon.

    Several of the comments on his page from his friends express the fact that they think he was innocent. Police are currently saying that he did shoot his children and then himself.

  • Kailee Marie Parker Murdered

    I’ve been away from my computer most of the week due to working in the salt mines but finally had a chance to get online for longer than five minutes this evening. I’ve only briefly followed this sad story that seems to be getting worse and worse.

    Back on Monday Eric Castro rushed two-year-old Kailee Parker to a neighbor’s house in Floyd County, Georgia to get help. On the way he flagged down someone who was passing by to perform CPR on the little girl. Unfortunately they were too late. Castro, the toddler’s step-father, said that he though Kailee was having a seizure and he was carrying her to the neighbor’s home to get help. She was eventually transported to Floyd Medical Center after a 911 call was made and she was pronounced dead 2:30pm Monday afternoon.

    According to the autopsy Kailee was “assaulted by others” and died as a result of multiple blunt trauma injuries to the head. According to the coroner’s office it wasn’t the result of just one beating but a series of continued abuse which finally lef to her death.

    21-year-old Heather Brittany McKinney Parker, the mother, and 27-year-old Eric Castro were arrested Friday and charged with Felony Murder, Malice Murder, First Degree Cruelty to Children and Felony Aggravated Battery. They made their first appearance in court this morning and were denied bond. They’ll both face a preliminary hearing within the next ten days.

    Funeral services were held on Friday in Rome, Georgia. The Floyd County Department of Family and Children’s Services took custody of Kailee’s two siblings, eight-month-old twins. According to reports the twins didn’t appear to be abused. Of course not. They’re Castro’s children.

  • Mother Arrested After Child Found Starved to Death

    Police and EMTs were called to a home on Concord Rd in Smyrna, Georgia this past Friday afternoon where they found a teenager dead. Two police officers were the first to respond to the unresponsive child call.

    Emergency responders to the home found the girl severely malnourished and neglected although the exact cause of death won’t be released until after an autopsy. There were other children in the home as well, all of whom were in good condition.

    According to the story over at the Examiner, neighbors told reporters that the girl had run away at least once before as well as her brother and that police have been involved with the family before.

    The mother, 38-Year-Old Ebony Berry, was arrested and charged with Murder and 1st degree Cruelty to Children. She is being held without bond in the Cobb County Jail. Her other children were released into the custody of DFACS.

  • Stone Mountain Man Charged With Killing His Baby With Vodka

    Back on June 8th Keith Antonine Furlow of Stone Mountain, Georgia was arrested after his daughter died from ingesting vodka that Furlow had mixed into his four-month-old baby daughter’s formula.

    I’ve heard of rubbing it on a child’s gums to ease teething pains but mixing it with formula?

    Again, WTF?

    The baby was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston on June 8th where she was pronounced dead. A toxicology report said that the child had an alcohol level of .1119

    The 30-year-old douchebag sperm donor was arrested and sat in the Dekalb County Jail waiting for a bond hearing. Yesterday a Dekalb County Grand Jury indicted him on charges of Murder and Cruelty to Children.

    Previously Furlow was arrested and charged with Failure to Appear back in February of this year as well as back on August 25th of 2011 on an unknown charge. He was released on October 5th on his own recognizance.

  • Updated – Zada Davis Charged With Abuse in Near-Fatal Drowning of Baby

    27-year-old Zada Davis of Tucson, Arizona has been arrested and charged with felony Child Abuse after the baby girl she was caring for was found floating in an overflowing bathtub.

    Davis was caring for three children and left the 10-month-old baby alone in the bathtub with the water running for about ten minutes. There other two children in the home were an 8-month-old and her 7-year-old.

    911 was called, a neighbor performed CPR while waiting for emergency responders, and when firefighters arrived the little girl, Winter Breeze Azure, was unconscious and was not breathing. They were able to rescusitate the child and she is currently in the hospital in critical condition.

    Davis was lodged in the Pima County jail.

    Updated – The infant died Monday after being taken off of life support. Zada Davis had been re-arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder.

    35-year-old India Parker of Cleveland, Ohio has been arrested after her daughter hadn’t been seen since she was five-years-old, FIVE YEARS AGO.

    WTF?

    Parker allegedly told one of her family members that her daughter had been killed when a bookcase fell on top of her but there is no death certificate for the little girl. Her family hasn’t seen her since 2006. A missing person’s report was filed last Monday but very little is known since she hasn’t been seen in such a long time. Again, WTF? Why wouldn’t someone in the family step up before five years had passed? The father of one of Parker’s other children finally reported Kaliyah, the little girl, missing.

    Parker was charged two days ago with Abuse of a Corpse. She is currently being held on $10,000 bond.

    The little girl’s remains have not been found and the case is being investigated as a homicide. Parker reportedly confessed to police that she threw her daughter’s body out with the trash. She had previously been charged with Child Endangering back in 2000 and has had at least one child removed from her home (and subsequently returned) by social services.

  • TJ Volner Arrested For Slitting the Throat of a Four-Year-Old

    Here’s yet another story of another piece of crap watching kids while the mom works, except this one has a nasty twist that’s even worse than normal.

    Gina Guenther of Wright County, Missouri was at work on December 7th, her two oldest children at school. 22-year-old “TJ” Terry Joe Volner was watching the two youngest children, one still in a crib along with four-year-old Dusty Guenther. Volner called his mother at some point that Wednesday morning and told her he had killed Gina Guenther along with her boyfriend and her four children. He confirmed it by then sending her a picture of Dusty Guenther with his throat cut and a stick holding his chin up.

    When police investigated the mother and three of her children were obviously OK but they found little Dusty Guenther dead in an ice-covered sewage pond next the to home in Jerktail, Missouri.

    Volner sent even more pictures possibly to more people than his mother. The news reports I’ve read don’t quite match. One of the pictures show Dusty in the same position but with an adult’s left arm held up in front of the camera. There’s a tattoo on the arm that matches one Volner has (it’s his name in cursive, I guess in case he forgets) and two pictures of what appeared to be a small leg in ice covered water.

    The local sheriff also thinks that Volner then stabbed himself in the stomach but they aren’t sure why. Volner was treated at a local hospital for his injuries. According to one of the articles Volner confessed to a state trooper that he killed Dusty on Tuesday evening or early Wednesday morning using a pocket knife to stab the child in the next and then put Dusty in the pond.

    Police say they also found love letters in the home from Volner to Guenther but he is apparently NOT her boyfriend, at least not at the time her son was murdered. Guenther’s boyfriend apparently spent the night earlier in the week and the prosecutor said that Volner’s motive was jealousy. Oh and here’s a surprise for you (not). Besides being a homeless felon who was exchanging babysitting for a place to stay Volner is apparently a juggalo as well.

     

    Volner, who has a previous convictions for stealing animals, burglary, auto theft and something to do with “knowingly burning” was charged with Murder, Armed Criminal Action and Abandonment of a Corpse.  He was just released from prison in March. He’s currently lodged in the Wright County Jail on $1 million bond.

    The local sheriff also said that Volner is related to four other people who were convicted of a murder in 2008. The group of Volners apparently beat and killed Dustin Skaggs, a man they thought was sleeping with one of their wives, then dumped the body in a rock quarry. Allegedly T.J. is the one who bailed out Benny Volner (the husband) after they were arrested.

  • Accused Baby Killer Found in Texas

    Back in July of this year a drug deal gone bad in Pensacola, Florida ended with gunshots being fired into an apartment. Unfortunately those shots claimed the life of a 19-month-old child as well as injuring 23-year-old Vincent Dennis.

    Police in Pensacola have been looking for 20-year-old Dwayne Cordell “Money” Pinestraw after he was identified as the shooter and up until this week haven’t had any luck. They spent many hours searching for the man, featuring him on Wanted posters as well as press releases. It started looking as if they would never be able to find him until America’s Most Wanted stepped in to help out.

    Within 48 hours of being featured on the show this past weekend a viewer’s tip led U.S. Marshals to a house in Dallas, Texas where Pinestraw had been hiding. He has been arrested and lodged in the Dallas County Jail and it’s unknown when he’ll be extradited to Florida.

    Pinestraw was wanted for Murder, Aggravated Battery and Firing a Missile into a Dwelling.

  • Ryan Brunn Arrested in Murder of 7-Year-Old

    Nine days ago 7-year-old Jorelys Rivera was last seen around 5pm on a playground in the River Ridge apartment complex in Canton, GA where she lived with her mother, Jocelyn Rivera. Her body was found three days later, duct-tape covering her mouth and her hands and feet bound with zip ties. Her fragile body was found in a dumpster and had been compacted by what turned out to be the mechanical dumpster at their apartment complex. After an autopsy and investigation it was determined that Jorelys was kidnapped and held in an empty apartment and had been raped, beaten and then stabbed to death.

    It didn’t take the GBI very long to start focusing on a suspect. After several tips about his weird behavior police started questioning 20-year-old Ryan Brunn, a maintenance man at River Ridge who also happens to live there. He had just moved into the complex after taking the job a month ago.

    During questioning Brunn reportedly told police that he was at Wal-Mart at the time the little girl was murdered. Security video from the store doesn’t bear out his story.

    Ryan has no criminal record up until now.

    Brunn is currently being held in the Cherokee County Jail in isolation to protect him and was denied bond last Thursday. He is charged with Murder and Making False Statements to investigators.
