I’ve had this story sitting in my browser window for two or three days and have just been too busy to do anything with it so it’s about time.

54-Year-Old Patrick Lott, an assistant principal at Bernardsville Middle School in New Jersey, was arrested last week after videos of nude teenagers were found in his home in Somerville, New Jersey last week. Police served a search warrant on his home during an investigation of his activities.

Lott has been accused of secreting a camera in a locker room. Law enforcement found videos dating back to 2008, showing students washing in the shower room at Immaculata High School, where he also volunteers. Police said that nine of the teenagers identified so far were under the age of 16.

As of this past Wednesday Lott was still incarcerated in the Somerset County Jail on $500,000 bond. If he does (or already has) make bail he can’t have any contact with children under the age of 16 and can’t communicate with any victim or staff member at Immaculata High School, a Catholic school in Somerville.

39-year-old Kristina Rhoden Hartless, a fifth grade teacher in Duval County, Florida, has been arrested after being accused of having sex with a child she had been tutoring as well as counseling in church.

Hartless has been charged with Sexual Battery

The child’s mother went to police, concerned that her teenager had been having an inappropriate relationship with Hartless. When she was questioned by police Hartless admitted to a sexual relationship with the boy and he allegedly admitted to it as well, saying it had gone on for months.

Hartless has been suspended from school pending the outcome of the case.

50-year-old Charles Daniel Nelson used to be the choral director of Woodland High School in Bartow County, Georgia. Back in January he resigned his position after allegations surfaced that he had been skimming money from the chorus raised through fundraisers.

After a lengthy GBI investigation Nelson has now been charged with 11 counts of felony Theft By Conversion and he is accused of having stolen $11,000.

Nelson is currently lodged in the Bartow County Jail pending a bond hearing.

Gina Marie Watring, formerly a teacher’s aide at Creekside Elementary in Durham, North Carolina, pleaded guilty this week to having sex with a 10-year-old student.

Watring received a pretty light sentence, six and a half years in jail along with another three years of probation.

Watring was originally arrested in April of 2009 and charged with Kidnapping, Child Abduction, Rape of a Child by an Adult Offender, Sex Offense With a Student and Indecent Liberties With a Child after the boy told police they had sex at Watring’s home twice. Sexual text messages between the two were also discovered on their phones.

30-year-old Justin Wallin, a band teacher at Chino Hills High School in Chino Hills, California has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old female student.

The victim reported to police that she was sexually involved with the man while he was her band teacher after her parents discovered sexually explicit text messages from Wallin on her phone.

After reviewing their phone bill police discovered over 8,000 text messages from Wallin to the victim. During the investigation police obtained unspecified evidence of the crime. He was arrested last Thursday at the High School.

Wallin was lodged in the West Valley Detention Center on charges of Unlawful Sexual Intercourse, Oral Copulation and Sexual Penetration With a Foreign Object. He is currently out on $100,000 bond.

33-year-old former English teacher Marcie L. Rousseau of  Thomas Township, Michigan has been arrested and was formally arraigned yesterday in Saginaw County on 21 counts of third and fourth degree Sexual Conduct stemming from a relationship she had with a student from May of 2009 until this past February.

Rousseau has also been charged with eight more counts of sexual conduct in Midland County because she allegedly had sex with the kid there as well.

Rousseau was placed on leave back in February when the investigation into her activities began and she resigned back on June 16th. Rousseau taught for nine years at Freeland High School.

What I find interesting is that CNN and a boatload of other news sites have picked up on the story and are airing it as if this should come as some kind of surprise. Each of the stories, including CNN’s mention a couple of other cases and a quote from Robin Sax (author of Predators and Molesters), “We’re finally realizing not only that sexual assault exists and how prevalent it is, but there is such a thing as a female perpetrator” that has been taken out of context.

They are wrong.

I agree with Sax about a lot of stuff, particularly how prevalent female predators are. I just don’t think that the country as a whole, or the main-stream-media in particular, get it. Most of the general population thinks that a female teacher having sex with a student is an entirely different thing than a male teacher having sex with a student. This is just another damned news cycle for the media and the story that’s being presented as if we should be so surprised will be something else next week and the handful of crime sites that actually cover this stuff on a regular basis will go back to being the only ones who really do.

Rousseau is out on $255,000 bond.

22-year-old Jonathon Doyle Mann, a drumline instructor at Goodpasture High School, has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old student over the course of several months.

Mann reportedly met the student last summer and a sexual relationship developed from it. The sexual contact occurred in different places around the school including the parking lot and school hallways as well as at Mann’s apartment.

During the police investigation they were able to obtain a recording wherein Mann admits to having sex with the girl. Of course he is now denying it.

Mann has been charged with Statutory Rape and Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure.

66-year-old Carl Peak of Tucson, a substitute teacher at Rivera Elementary School, has been accused of inappropriately touching several female students and has been arrested.

Officers in Pima County interviewed six different students in Peak’s class and each of them stated that Peak touched them on the buttocks at least once.

Peak was interviewed at the Tucson PD office and afterward was arrested and charged with six misdemeanors. He was lodged in the Pima County Jail. I don’t currently know the status of bond.

Back in March administrators at Western Middle School in Burlington, North Carolina reported to police allegations that a teacher’s assistant had touched students inappropriately.

After a two month investigation a warrant was issued for the arrest of 41-year-old Russell Witcher of Burlington. He has been lodged in the Alamance County Jail on $75,000 bond and his first court appearance is tomorrow.

30-year-old Lauren Tilo, an assistant principal at Middleton High School in Hillsborough County, Florida, has been arrested after she allegedly sent a sexually provocative photo to a 14-year-old boy.

The two met online in World of Warcraft and it seemed innocent enough at first, just being friends. After a while they started texting each other. On May 7th Tilo took a photo of herself with her breast exposed and sent it to the young teen, who told his guidance counselor at school. We all know what came next.

23-year-old Abby Campbell Kramer, a former dance instructor at Fort Scott High School in Fort Scott, Kansas, has been arrested after she allegedly had sex with a student at the high school.

Police were called last Wednesday to investigate allegations that Kramer had engaged in sexual contact with one of the students there. She has been charged Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Unlawful Sexual Relations and lodged in the Southeast Kansas Regional Correctional Center with no bond.

According to the school superintendent Kramer was not a teacher at the school but was contracted through Neosho County Community College as a dance instructor.

Judging from the photo in the article that ran in the Fort Scott Tribune last August announcing Kramer’s wedding she’s fairly hot. Hell, she should have just called me up if she wanted a little help with the old in/out…

32-year-old Green Bay, Wisconsin resident and former teacher at Kiel High School Ryan Zellner was arrested back at the beginning of April, charged with Sexual Assault of a Child, Child Enticement, Use of a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime and Sexual Assault of a Child By School Staff Person.

The charges stemmed from text messages which happened over a period of time beginning in 2007 and involving several victims. Shortly after his arrest bond was set at $100,000 and he was lodged in the Manitowoc County Jail. He has also been charged in Calumet County with asking a 15-year-old girl for naked photos, grabbing her breast and sexting. The official charges are Exposing a Child to Harmful Materials. Zellner was investigated on the same type of charges back in 2006 when he was teaching at Southwest High but the case couldn’t be substantiated and went nowhere.

According to investigators Zellner intimidated and manipulated girls younger than 16 in more than one school district.

While Zellner got a great reference from his old school before being hired at Kiel according to the prosecution he left his two prior teaching positions under suspicion of inappropriate contact with students and that several students have called the police to report Zellner since his arrest.

A couple of weeks ago the police subpoenaed Zellner’s phone records and are saying that he exchanged more than 10,000 texts, phone calls or photos on his cell phone over a four month period with just one girl.

Ryan Zellner has pleaded Not Guilty By Reason of Mental Disease or Defect. What a load of crap. Of course he has a fucking mental defect but that doesn’t preclude him from being able to judge whether or not it’s appropriate to molest high school girls.

The Marion County, Florida Sheriff’s Office arrested 49-year-old Steven T. Simmons this afternoon around 4 p.m. Simmons is a teacher at North Marion High School.

Over the past few years students have made reports of thefts from the lockers. Thus far police and the administration have not been able to figure it out so an enterprising student decided to catch it on video today. He managed to use his cell phone to catch Coach Simmons going through the lockers.

After questioning by the school resource officer (and confronted with the video) Simmons admitted to stealing money from the lockers for a couple of years. He admitted to having taken more than $400 just this school year alone.

Simmons has been charged with Grand Theft and was lodged in the Marion County Jail on $2,000 bond. He posted bond shortly before 8 p.m. this evening.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office the video isn’t available at this time but hopefully they will have it online soon, at which point I’ll post it here as well.

43-year-old Terry Kristin Rauh, a teacher at Jesse Hall Elementary School in Spanish Springs, Nevada, has been arrested and charged with 67 counts of Taking an Image of Private Parts, which is a misdemeanor.

Rauh, who has been teaching for 20 years in the Washoe County School District, is accused of planting a video camera in the unisex staff bathroom in the teacher’s lounge. Another teacher found the camera Wednesday and reported it to the principal who called the police after photos were found.

After an investigation into who planted the camera by reviewing the footage police arrested Rauh on Thursday afternoon. He has been suspended from his position pending the outcome of the investigation and has been lodged in the Washoe County Jail.

29-year-old Brandy L. Mullikin, a teacher from Star City, Arkansas, was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault after admitting to having sex with a minor on several occasions.

Mullikin allegedly admitted to the relationship after the student turned 18. She admitted that he stayed overnight at her house on several occasions and also said that the teen’s mother knew of the affair. Initially she said that the affair began outside of school and didn’t happen until after the boy turned 18 but she has now admitted that it started when he was 17 and she knew his age.

Mullikin has been terminated from teaching at Star City High School after initially being suspended.

If Mullikin is convicted she faces 5 to 20 years in prison.

33-year-old Jodi Lynn Barrus surrendered to police and was charged with Sexual Exploitation of a School Student according to the Wright County, Iowa Sheriff’s Office.

Barrus is currently out on bond.

The Belmond, Ia School District got in touch with the Wright County Sheriff’s Office to get them to start an investigation. The alleged victim is a boy who goes to the High School where Barrus teaches. The Sheriff’s Office is currently not releasing the age or name of the student or the type of alleged contact.

37-year-old Kevin Matthew Nice was indicted last Friday on charges involving four teenage girls from Pilot Rock High School in Pendleton, Oregon. The charges are Sodomy, Sexual Penetration, Sexual Abuse, Luring a Minor, Child Sexual Display and Official Misconduct.

From September 2007 until November 2009 Kevin Nice, who taught for 12 years, allegedly engaged in sexual relationships with four different students he new in his capacity as a teach and coach at the high school. Police haven’t released a lot of information in the case as of right now but more will be forthcoming.

Nice is currently lodged in the Umatilla County Jail on $1 million bond.

33-year-old Laura Deane Lyles from Jasper, Georgia has been arrested and charged with Sexual Assault, Sodomy and Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor after she was of having sex with a male student from Pickens County High School (Laura’s page a Pickens).

Lyles is a science teacher at Pickens and police say that the sexual encounter occurred on the Pickens County High School Campus.

The school superintendent reportedly brought the allegations to the attention of the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.

Lyles is currently lodged in the Pickens County Jail without with no bond.

41-year-old Melinda Dennehy of Hampstead, New Hampshire turned herself in to police in Londonderry after she was accused of emailing nude photographs of herself to a 15-year-old student at Londonderry High School, where she teaches. She has been released on $10,000 bond after being charged with Indecent Exposure and Lewdness.

Dennehy was placed on administrative leave Wednesday, which is the same day that the school and police were informed of the pictures, which are now being sent around the school.

The kid who received the photos from Dennehy (and then forwarded them to two other male students) claims that Dennehy sent him text messages offering her sexual services and kissed him at school twice recently.

Police have question the boy as well as several other male students including the ones who received the photos. The arrest affidavit says that at least one photograph shows the mother of two with her “genitals exposed”. Also according to the affidavit (which can be seen here) Dennehy continuously sent the child text messages, in some of them telling the student that she wanted to give him a blow job.

Yurp.

While I am quite an admirer of the female form in all shapes and sizes, somehow the thought of looking at Dennehy’s beef curtains is a visual I really didn’t want tonight. Just damn.

Dennehy has her arraignment on April 30th and has also been put on administrative leave with pay from Londonderry High School. She has been ordered as a stipulation of her bond to stay away from anyone under 16.

Updated 3/26/10 – Melinda Dennehy has resigned her teaching position rather than remaining on administrative leave. Police are also trying to determine if she violated her bond when she attended a gymnastics meet last weekend that the victim also attended.

Back on February 24th 34-year-old John Samuel Gravely of Warner Robins, Georgia, a teacher at Northside High School in Warner Robins, was arrested and charged with Child Molestation and making False Statements for incidents that allegedly occurred earlier in the month.

According to the incident report Gravely, the head wrestling coach at NHS and football coach for Northside Middle School, fondled a 15-year-old female student in front of a male student and also asked him to join in.

Since his initial arrest two other students have come forward with separate allegations, one of which told police that in December of last year Gravely hugged her and kissed her neck in the process.

Gravely is currently out on $2,000 bond and on house arrest with an ankle monitor after a hearing earlier this week. He is forbidden from having any contact with the victim or anyone else under 16 for that matter.

The two False Statements charges Gravely is facing apparently are from incidents during questioning from February 5th and 11th during the initial investigation. The school initially made the report, which was sent to the Houston County DA’s Ofice who turned it over to the Houston County Sheriff.

Gravely has also given a letter of resignation, through his lawyer, effective on March 15th.

Last week police in Manassas, Virginia received information that pointed toward 49-year-old Kevin Garfield Ricks, an English teacher at Osbourn High School. The allegations are that the man had sex with a 16-year-old former student.

According to police the sexual contact between the boy and Ricks took place back in December and January.

Ricks has been arrested and charged with Carnal Knowledge, Aggravated Sexual Battery and Indecent Liberties While In a Supervisory Position. He’s currently being held without bond.

35-year-old Stephenson Middle School Spanish teacher Rafer Lamar Grier is currently lodged in the Dekalb County Jail charged with Aggravated Child Molestation and Statutory Rape over incidents that happened in 2008.

Grier was arrested on February 5th.

Apparently law enforcement didn’t see fit to inform Dekalb County Schools about Grier’s arrest and the charges, as they claim to not have heard anything about it until they received a media inquiry from CBS Atlanta.

29-year-old Carter High School teacher’s assistant Heather A. Pratt of Knoxville, Tennessee has been on administrative leave since shortly before Christmas break this past year after the Knox County Sheriff’s Department informed them of an investigation going on involving Pratt in what police are calling an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Police in Knox County aren’t releasing a lot of details in the ongoing investigation but apparently the TN Department of Children’s Services has been investigating it as well since she went on leave on November 30th.

Pratt has been employed by Knox County Schools for slightly over a year, having worked as a substitute teacher, in the food services department and finally as a teacher’s assistant.

39-year-old Tammy Renee Clinton, a teacher at Farnell Middle School, was arrested yesterday after being accused of trying to coerce a 14-year-old 8th grade student to have sex with her.

Reportedly, last month Clinton grabbed the 14-year-old boy’s ass and then forced him to touch her breasts. She allegedly tried twice to get the boy to meet her off of school grounds to have sex with her but it creeped the kid out so much that he reported her to another teacher two days ago. The teacher in turn told the principals who contacted the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Clinton has taught for the last eight years and this is the first time there have been any allegations of any improper behavior.

Clinton was released from the Hillsborough County Jail on $30,000 bond.

Shanna Detwieler, a 40-year-old teacher in a Paulding County, Georgia middle school, has been arrested and charged with Child Molestation and Sexual Battery for having what is described as a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy. Detweiler teaches science at Austin Middle School.

Detwieler, who lives in Dallas, GA, was arrested yesterday by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. She was lodged in the Paulding County Jail and bonded out today on $4,050.

The alleged incident did not happen on school property but the Paulding County School System has taken her out of the classroom, but wouldn’t part with any more information.

36-year-old Stacey Rochelle Goodloe is a former Ceres, California teacher’s aide. I say former because she has been terminated from her position and has been charged with six sex charges including Unlawful Sex and Oral Copulation With a Minor after being arrested back in March 2009.

Goodloe allegedly had sex at least six times in hotels in the area as well as in her car near a park in Modesto. According to testimony provided by her victim Goodloe would pick him up at his house in her car and then drive them to Mancini Park where they would have sex. The teacher’s aide even came to visit him in the hospital when he had a broken leg.

When police initially contacted police she told them she thought they were asking about gang threats to her family and at the high school and that she was afraid of her 15-year-old victim, that he owned a knife and had threatened to kill himself. She then told police that she was in love with the student and admitted to having had a sexual affair with the boy.

Goodloe is to be arraigned in Stanislaus County Court on January 25th. She pleaded not guilty to the charges last year. It’s certainly taken long enough to finally get this into court.

32-year-old Amy Lynn Barhite, a teacher at West Florence High School in South Carolina has been arrested and charged with Criminal Solicitation of a Minor after she allegedly exchanged inappropriate text messages with two of her students.

Apparently someone in the administration heard a rumor that Barhite might be giving alcohol to students and when they questioned one student about it indirectly the kid asked them if they were inquiring about the text messages. ooops.

Turns out that during most of the first half of last year she was supposedly sexting two different students. According to investigators she was texting them,

for the purpose or intent of persuading, inducing, enticing, or coercing the underage person to engage in or participate in sexual activity.

Barhite was arrested earlier today by police in Florence County. According to the Florence School District One Barhite is no longer employed.

Back in October 42-Year-Old Christopher John Ontiveros, a teacher at Oxford Academy in Cypress, California, reportedly one of the best high schools in Orange County, was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault, Sexual Battery, Sexual Communication With a Minor, Grooming a Minor and Child Annoyance after he allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with one of his students over a period of several months.

The Cypress Police Department sent out this press release on October 22nd,

On October 13, 2009, information was brought forward to the Cypress Police
Department by school officials from the Anaheim Union High School District reporting possible inappropriate, sexual contact between a teacher and minor student. The teacher was a full time faculty member at the Oxford Academy located in Cypress and the victim, whose identity is being withheld, was a female student at the school.

After the preliminary investigation, Cypress Police detectives believe over the course of several months, inappropriate sexual contact between the suspect and the minor student under the age of 18 occurred.

Cypress detectives arrested the suspect on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at
approximately 11:38 a.m. in the City of Tustin. Mr. Christopher John Ontiveros (12-17-66) was placed under arrest and transported to the Cypress City Jail where he was booked on the charges of PC 220(a) – Assault with intent to commit a felony, PC 243.4(e)(1) – Sexual battery, PC 288.2(a) – Sending harmful matter to a minor with intent to seduce, PC 288.3(a) – Contact with a minor to commit specific offense, and PC 647.6(a)(1) – Child annoyance. Mr. Ontiveros was being held on $100,000 bail and was able to post bail. He was released from the Cypress City Jail on a notice to appear in Court on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at the West Justice Center.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are equally concerned about the potential of other victims that may have had contact with this suspect. Anyone with information pertaining to this case or other unreported cases is urged to contact the Cypress Police Department, Detective Bureau at (714) 229-6631.

Ontiveros was arraigned on Wednesday, January 6th and pleaded not guilty to all charges. According to the arrest warrant Ontiveros got familiar with the victim during tutoring sessions which then led to some sort of counseling for medical issues and then the two started spending time together outside of school.

The victim’s mother apparently found a bunch of text messages on her daughter’s phone last fall and had her report it to the principal, who transcribed them (10 typewritten pages worth) to be turned in to law enforcement as well as to most likely remove the man from his teaching position.

The text messages include the following as well as plenty more,

Now the mist across the window hides a light, but nothing hides the color of a light that shines… You…dress in pink and blue just like a child, in a yellow taxi turn to me and smile, stepping out tonight!

I think of u constantly, see u everywhere, still a session with photo album, write bad post its, constantly;

I fell when I stole extra long stares at u as u left 106 late after class all those times last year;
I stumbled forever at apush (AP U.S. History) nights watching u stretch and reposition itself on the red couch;
u grabbed my hand in the onion feast and my heart leapt… I can go on and on… may I please hold u? May I explore and kiss each lip tenderly?"

Greatest thing ever was u left a draft on the monitor, apologized, then typed ty, ily. I soared told everyone how happy I was, u affect me. Let’s sleep together tonight, shalli climb through ur window? Will u let me in?

Ontiveros wrote that he was "still aching from today’s goodbye," and added, "if I may be so bold, to ask you to wear an article that allows easy access."

On Oct. 7, he wrote, "Maybe there’s many ways to prove myself, but one forsure is when I get to hold u and share this ecstatic love making, it’s real and binds us."

On Oct. 8, he set up a meeting: "At per 8, I’m taking the suburban to office parking across from library; I’m running in to change clothes in the men’s room at the east end; passenger door will be unlocked just in case; have a wonderful day."

On Oct. 11, two days before the investigation started he texted "I know u aren’t feeling well and I suspect something’s up at home… ur mom is calling us; dnt know why, wants to talk to Mrs. O; hmm; we’ll never retreat…"

That’s some seriously creepy shit.

Ontiveros is married and has children, at least one is still living at home. It sucks that when someone victimizes a child like this they don’t take into account the fact that not only are they hurting that person but they are victimizing the child’s family as well as their own family and friends.

Leah Gayle Shipman, a 39-year-old teacher from Brunswick County Academy in Wilmington, North Carolina, has been arrested and charged with Statutory Rape, Indecent Liberties With a Child and Sexual Acts by a Teacher.

The alleged incidents happened starting in April of 2009 when her victim was 15-years-old.

Shipman has been teaching in Brunswick County since 2002 and has been suspended pending the investigation. The school system has been working with the Brunswick County Sheriff and made the sheriff’s department aware of the allegations as soon as they found out about it.

Shipman is currently lodged in the Brunswick County Jail on $100,000 bond.
