14-year-old Darby Jean Girardi has been missing from her Raleigh, North Carolina home since March 26th. The girl was last seen at Leesville Road High School on that day. Police don’t currently consider Darby to be endangered and believe that she ran away voluntarily although as far as I am concerned any 14-year-old runaway should be considered endangered.
Darby is Caucasian, 5’3”, 130lbs with brown hair and hazel eyes. She has multiple piercings in her ears and may be wearing blue tinted contacts. She was last seen wearing a brown cami, sweats, multi-colored DC shoes and a black hat.
Anybody that may have information as to Darby’s whereabouts is asked to call the Wake County Sheriff’s Office at 919-856-6911.
Sunday afternoon 12-year-old Kayleah Wilson left her house in Greeley, Colorado to walk to a friend’s birthday party nearby. She never made it.
Police have been looking for the girl for the last five days and have expanded their search to include places that she hung out such as the library, mall and a music store. They have been knocking on doors and using dogs to search roads in the area and thus far have come up empty handed.
Around 60 police and FBI agents have been helping in the search for the sixth-grader. Her mother, April Wilson describes Kayleah as a “good kid”/
The police have also contacted Kayleah’s father, who lives in California. He isn’t considered a suspect or person of interest.
Kayleah is 5’1”, 145lbs and has brown hair and blue eyes. She has asthma and is believed to be carrying her inhaler.
Last month 17-year-old Wenatchee High School student Mackenzie Cowell disappeared after she left a beauty school class at the Academy of Hair Design. Four days later she was found along the Columbia River at Crescent Bar.
Through their investigation detectives in Wenatchee, Washington have figured out that Mackenzie was at the Wenatchee Riverfront Park boat ramp area later on the same day she was last seen. A task force was assembled to find her killer and a $40,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to a conviction in the murder of Mackenzie Cowell.
According to the death certificate Mackenzie died from manual strangulation and stab wound to the neck with blunt impact to the head a significant contribution.

Now he’s gone and done it again. This time Joran Van der Sloot has confessed again, according to the German news agency RTL. According to them Van der Sloot confessed to dumping her body in a swamp after she accidently fell off of a balcony and died after hitting her head.
Personally I think he’s full of shit and just enjoys the attention, although with most lies there is a grain of truth in them.
15-year-old Celia and 16-year-old Elsa Fitch are missing from their home in Spring Branch, Texas. It’s not often that I put up a runaway post but that is what this is. The two girls were last seen by their family Thursday, February 11th prior to going to bed for the evening. At some point during the night they ran away.
The girls gave their friends at Smithson Valley High School a couple of different stories, that they were going to Florida and that they were going to California. They did have help from someone named Tristan in San Diego.
Since the girls ran away they are not considered at risk for serious bodily injury or death which is a requirement to get an Amber Alert. What this unfortunately means is that there is effectively no law enforcement in the U.S. that is seriously looking for the two girls. As a result, the family have hired a couple of private investigators and of course are looking to help defray the costs associated with a private search. Elsa and Celia returned to Texas Sunday evening. They called to tell me they were coming back because they were very angry over the police issuing warrents for the woman in CA. Today they were interviewed by the police and CPS. I do not know the outcome of the interviews as no one called me.
I am thankful to those people who helped get them back in Texas. I am frustrated that authorities seem to feel no need to call me. I am sad that the girls blame me for the fate of “their BEST friend!” I am blessed by all of you who have reached out with thoughts, prayers, contact, money and food for us. Please, keep the positive thoughts and prayers coming, as it’s not over yet!

20-year-old Morgan Dana Harrington, the VT student who went missing during a Metallica concert at the John Paul Johns Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia on October 17th, 2009 has most likely been located according to police reports as well as comments from her family.
The partially skeletal remains of a female with long blond hair were found on a farm about ten miles from the arena. Although law enforcement says that they have to wait until the autopsy for a concrete identification they do seem pretty positive that the body belongs to Morgan Harrington due to “evidence” found with the body.
The evidence is apparently clothing believed to have belonged to Morgan which was found near the body.
I have been following this story since last October although this is the first time I’ve posted about it since I figured everyone else had already put up all of the same information.
According to Art Harris over at The Bald Truth 18-year-old Misty Croslin, the ex-stepmother of missing little girl Haleigh Cummings, was arrested earlier this evening in Putnam County, Florida on sex drug trafficking charges. He is also reporting that her brother Tommy has been arrested as well as Haleigh’s father Ronald Cummings.

The Cummings are another family I wrote extensively about at another crime site last year but haven’t really given much attention to since moving here.

It looks like they were also arrested with a Hope Sykes (MySpace). Like I said, I haven’t followed the case recently so I really don’t know what relation she is to them but the picture on her MySpace damn sure looks like her with Ron’s two kids.
Police in Columbia County, Georgia are asking for help in locating 15-year-old Isabella “Bella” Leola Carter from Martinez. Isabella is assumed to have run away and was last seen on Monday, January 11th in Martinez.
Isabella is a white female, blonde hair, blue eyes, 5’2”, 150 lbs. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, white tennis shoes and a gray jacket.
Anyone with information pertaining to the disappearance is asked to call the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office at 706-541-2800.
Updated 1/13/10 – Columbia County Investigators are reporting that Carter is safe and at home now.
According to the Sante Fe, New Mexico Sheriff’s Department Stephen Hilla picked up his three children who he shares custody with their mother from school on Tuesday, ostensibly to take them to lunch. Hilla and the three children have been missing ever since. His ex-wife attempted to get in touch with him after he didn’t show up after lunch and has been unsuccessful.
Hilla does have a history of criminal violence and police believe that he may be headed toward Wilmington, North Carolina, which is his home town and supposedly he has a job waiting for him there. The Sheriff’s Office checked with his current employer in New Mexico and according to them he hasn’t shown up for work in several days.
The three children are Justin (10), Timmy (10) and Emily (8). Hilla is 6’4″, 170 lbs and has blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen driving a dark blue Dodge Ram 1500 two wheel drive pickup with New Mexico license plates 1001-PTD. He may also have two dogs with him as well, a black Chow-Labrador mix and a red and tan miniature dachshund. Hilla is on probation for domestic battery and is considered dangerous.
Updated 12/11/09 – Hilla’s record of arrests includes DUI, Aggravated Assault, Shooting Inside a Dwelling, Tampering With Evidence, Abandonment or Abuse of a Child (several times), Battery, Aggravated Domestic Battery, Driving With a Suspended License and Civil Actions for Breach of Contract.
On the 8th Hilla was tracked as far as Amarillo and an officer even ran his plates but at that point in time there was no warrant out for his arrest.
Back in September of 2008 55-Year-Old Clarence Eugene Butterfiled was arrested in San Clemente, California on a charge of Obstructing a Police Officer and ended up being shipped out to Nevada to face charges on a criminal warrant taken out for him there on charges of Burglary, Theft and Forgery. Butterfield apparently has a long string of violent crimes stretching out over his criminal career.
While he was gone he left the RV he lived in parked in an alley on private property next door to a place owned by a friend of his. It ended up being towed and on October 28th employees from the tow company were searching the vehicle when they found the decomposing body of a woman wrapped in plastic and stuffed in the five foot long freezer. San Clemente Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene.
The body ended up being that of Butterfield’s 21-Year-Old daughter Rebekah, who had been reported missing by her mother in June of 2008. Butterfield is accused of having shot her several times and then suffocated her to death before jamming her into the freezer in the RV. He was charged with murder on October 30th, 2008 and finally extradited back to San Clemente back in April where he has been held since. He was indicted on murder charges yesterday and will be arraigned on December 15th for Special Circumstances Murder During the Commission of Torture and Mayhem and one count of Assault With a Firearm. The charges make Butterfield eligible for the death penalty.
Updated 3/27/11 – Butterfield, who was convicted of his crimes, was featured on the MSNBC series Lockup Extended Stay last Sunday night. According to a blurb I found about the episode (I didn’t watch it) Butterfield claims to be a devout Christian and was hoping for a miracle that would bring his daughter back to life.
Butterfield was convicted of Murder and Assault With a Deadly Weapon last August and received a life sentence.
