14-year-old Galilea Magana was Christmas shopping with her mother at an outlet mall in Jackson County, Georgia back on December 19th when she disappeared and hasn’t been seen since. She went to the bathroom and never came back.

According to her family Galilea wasn’t rebellious and they weren’t aware of any boyfriend that she might have, although friends of her’s from school say that she had been talking about an older man named “Lalo” online. Police believe that his name could be Eduardo Hernandez or Eduardo Jimenez. The family also stated in a news conference that she had placed a call to Mexico a couple of days prior and that she was crying and wanted to go home.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.  Anyone with information is asked to call 706-367-8718.

Galilea is 14 years of age, Hispanic, 5’2″, 120lbs with black heair and brown eyes. She may be wearing glasses.

Updated 12/21/11 – The local newspaper here, the Time-Georgian, finally has an article up about Brittany Collins. According to the newspaper it definitely seems to be a runaway case and that when she was discovered missing she had left a note behind for her family.

Updated 12/24/11 – Brittany was found safe at a local home earlier this week. She is being charged as an Unruly Juvenile and a Runaway after the Villa Rica PD spent 37 man-hours on the case searching for her.

I know I only usually post about missing kids on the rare occasion and they are usually local to me but I am making an exception in this case since it’s the relative of one of my Facebook friends.

15-year-old Courtney D’ann Sanchez has been missing from Altus, Oklahoma since February 17th. She was last seen by a friend at their high school.

Courtney’s mother told police that she and a friend went to a park across the street from the high school and her friend said Sanchez was upset and crying.

Courtney has a history of running away from home and may be in the company of a juvenile male. It’s possible that they are still in the Altus area.

She is White, 4’11”, 103lbs, Brown hair and eyes. Her ears and navel are pierced and she has a circular scar on her left shoulder. You can find the NCMEC profile here.

Updated 2/23/2011 10:15pm – Courtney D’ann Sanchez was found safe at a home in Altus this morning and is back at home with her mother tonight.

12-year-old Pricilla Ristick was last seen in the company of her uncle at the Little Caesars pizza in Lilburn, Georgia on Sunday night. She was helping him sell flowers. According to the several reports I have read her uncle, Joey Thompson, went inside to pick up a pizza around 5pm and when he came out the girl was gone. Supposedly there were witnesses who saw the girl get into a white van.

Pricilla and her mother are from out of state and are visiting relatives in Lilburn.

According to the family the mother received a call from Pricilla a couple of hours after she disappeared,

"She said, ‘Mom.’ And I asked her, ‘Where are you, Pricilla?’

‘I’m at this house with a lady.’

‘What’s her name?’

‘Nancy.’"

Julia said Pricilla was not able to describe where the house is located.

"I told her, ‘Why did you get in with her in the van?’ ‘Because she offered me money, she was going to cash a check’ and give her money to buy food."

Julia Ristick, the mother, reportedly told the girl to take the phone and get out of there as well as to call 911. She says that’s when someone hung up the phone.

Pricilla was last seen wearing a gray jacket, blue jeans and black shoes. She has red hair, is about 4’ tall and weighs 95 lbs. Although the police want to issue an Amber Alert the GBI won’t allow them to since she got into the car voluntarily. Something is obviously fucking wrong with our system and the GBI. Perhaps someone can put a pointy stick in the eye of whoever made that fucked up decision.

While the GBI has not issued an alert the NCMEC has been notified.

The Gwinnett County Police SVU is asking that anyone who has seen Pricilla call them at 770-513-5300.

Perhaps it’s just me being cynical but something is fucked up about this entire story from the Uncle selling flowers with the girl, to the white van as well as the supposed phone call. I can only hope this little girl is OK.

2/24/2011 – Surveillance video does show Pricilla getting into a white van but the news channels and police say that they do not show an abduction. I know that sounds pretty fucked up, at least it does to me. Just because she got into a van willingly DOES NOT MEAN SHE WAS NOT ABDUCTED. Plenty of child predators use different tricks to get kids to cooperate with them. Money, drugs, candy, etc…

2/25/2011 4:07 p.m. – Just came across a report at FOX that says Pricilla has been located and is safe. They are reporting that Pricilla was able to call her Uncle and told him she was in a building with many people and that they wouldn’t let her leave. The call was traced to a location in Las Vegas.

Pricilla told police that she took a bus to Las Vegas and had been there one or two days. She has been placed in the care of Child Services.

I don’t have any more details yet but will post them when I do.

21-year-old Marcelle ‘Marcy’ Elliot disappeared from Carrollton, Georgia on Thursday night. Marcy is a student at the University of West Georgia and is out on summer break right now but was visiting friends near the campus on Lovvorn Road.

Police have recovered Elliot’s car which was parked where she left it at The Loft, an apartment complex in Carrollton. A witness at the complex saw Elliot arrive, get out of the car and walk around the building. There has been no cell phone or debit card usage on her accounts since Thursday and while police say they don’t suspect foul play they aren’t ruling anything out.

How can they not suspect foul play after six days?

Police are going door to door and searching the woods and vacant homes near the apartment building Marcy was visiting.

I don’t do a ton of missing person stories but this was sent to me from a reader earlier this evening.

27-year-old Melanie “Mel Vega” Munoz of Houston, Texas has been missing since Friday June 4th. Melanie was last seen leaving Spring, Texas driving a 1998 dark blue Ford Taurus with Texas plates TGN-919.

Melanie is 5’5”, 130lbs, she is Hispanic with Brown eyes and auburn hair. Melanie has tattoos of a city skyline and Pegasus/night sky on her lower right arm and the queen of hearts on her upper left arm. She was last seen wearing a navy blue v-neck t-shirt and blue jeans.

Back on April 2nd I wrote about 12-year-old Kayleah Wilson. She left her house in Greeley, Colorado to head to a friend’s birthday party. She was never seen again. The FBI along with local police and residents searched for Kayleah to no avail. Unfortunately police have part of the answer now as her body has been found.

A workers checking a drainage ditch two days ago after heavy rains found Kayleah’s decomposing body lying in three feet of water less than a mile from her house.

Police aren’t releasing the cause of death but her 18-year-old boyfriend has been arrested for allegedly having sex with Kayleah and has been charged with Sexual Assault on a Child. Police are saying though that the arrest has nothing to do with her death.

Two sisters from North Dakota have been missing since last Friday and police are concerned with there whereabouts.

Kendra Lynn Enget and Kirsten Enget were both last seen at Williston High School last week. Kendra is 14, 5’3”, 135 lbs and has brown hair and brown eyes, She was last seen wearing a green Sioux hoodie with blue jeans. Her sister Kirsten is 16, 5’3”, 115lbs and was last seen wearing a pink shirt with blue jeans.

Police believe that the two ran away together and may have traveled to Tioga or New Town. Anyone with information on the two missing teens is asked to call the Williams County Sheriff’s Office at 577-7700

14-year-old Darby Jean Girardi has been missing from her Raleigh, North Carolina home since March 26th. The girl was last seen at Leesville Road High School on that day. Police don’t currently consider Darby to be endangered and believe that she ran away voluntarily although as far as I am concerned any 14-year-old runaway should be considered endangered.

Darby is Caucasian, 5’3”, 130lbs with brown hair and hazel eyes. She has multiple piercings in her ears and may be wearing blue tinted contacts. She was last seen wearing a brown cami, sweats, multi-colored DC shoes and a black hat.

Anybody that may have information as to Darby’s whereabouts is asked to call the Wake County Sheriff’s Office at 919-856-6911.

Sunday afternoon 12-year-old Kayleah Wilson left her house in Greeley, Colorado to walk to a friend’s birthday party nearby. She never made it.

Police have been looking for the girl for the last five days and have expanded their search to include places that she hung out such as the library, mall and a music store. They have been knocking on doors and using dogs to search roads in the area and thus far have come up empty handed.

Around 60 police and FBI agents have been helping in the search for the sixth-grader. Her mother, April Wilson describes Kayleah as a “good kid”/

The police have also contacted Kayleah’s father, who lives in California. He isn’t considered a suspect or person of interest.

Kayleah is 5’1”, 145lbs and has brown hair and blue eyes. She has asthma and is believed to be carrying her inhaler.

Last month 17-year-old Wenatchee High School student Mackenzie Cowell disappeared after she left a beauty school class at the Academy of Hair Design. Four days later she was found along the Columbia River at Crescent Bar.

Through their investigation detectives in Wenatchee, Washington have figured out that Mackenzie was at the Wenatchee Riverfront Park boat ramp area later on the same day she was last seen. A task force was assembled to find her killer and a $40,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to a conviction in the murder of Mackenzie Cowell.

According to the death certificate Mackenzie died from manual strangulation and stab wound to the neck with blunt impact to the head a significant contribution.

I started getting into writing about crime back around the time that Natalee Holloway disappeared and have posted about the case a handful of times over the last five years. The most recent was probably the video of Joran confessing to an undercover reporter a couple of years ago. Here’s the video”

Now he’s gone and done it again. This time Joran Van der Sloot has confessed again, according to the German news agency RTL. According to them  Van der Sloot confessed to dumping her body in a swamp after she accidently fell off of a balcony and died after hitting her head.

Personally I think he’s full of shit and just enjoys the attention, although with most lies there is a grain of truth in them.

15-year-old Celia and 16-year-old Elsa Fitch are missing from their home in Spring Branch, Texas. It’s not often that I put up a runaway post but that is what this is. The two girls were last seen by their family Thursday, February 11th prior to going to bed for the evening. At some point during the night they ran away.

The girls gave their friends at Smithson Valley High School a couple of different stories, that they were going to Florida and that they were going to California. They did have help from someone named Tristan in San Diego.

Since the girls ran away they are not considered at risk for serious bodily injury or death which is a requirement to get an Amber Alert. What this unfortunately means is that there is effectively no law enforcement in the U.S. that is seriously looking for the two girls. As a result, the family have hired a couple of private investigators and of course are looking to help defray the costs associated with a private search. Elsa and Celia returned to Texas Sunday evening. They called to tell me they were coming back because they were very angry over the police issuing warrents for the woman in CA. Today they were interviewed by the police and CPS. I do not know the outcome of the interviews as no one called me.
I am thankful to those people who helped get them back in Texas. I am frustrated that authorities seem to feel no need to call me. I am sad that the girls blame me for the fate of “their BEST friend!” I am blessed by all of you who have reached out with thoughts, prayers, contact, money and food for us. Please, keep the positive thoughts and prayers coming, as it’s not over yet!

20-year-old Morgan Dana Harrington, the VT student who went missing during a Metallica concert at the John Paul Johns Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia on October 17th, 2009 has most likely been located according to police reports as well as comments from her family.

The partially skeletal remains of a female with long blond hair were found on a farm about ten miles from the arena. Although law enforcement says that they have to wait until the autopsy for a concrete identification they do seem pretty positive that the body belongs to Morgan Harrington due to “evidence” found with the body.

The evidence is apparently clothing believed to have belonged to Morgan which was found near the body.

I have been following this story since last October although this is the first time I’ve posted about it since I figured everyone else had already put up all of the same information.

According to Art Harris over at The Bald Truth 18-year-old Misty Croslin, the ex-stepmother of missing little girl Haleigh Cummings, was arrested earlier this evening in Putnam County, Florida on sex drug trafficking charges. He is also reporting that her brother Tommy has been arrested as well as Haleigh’s father Ronald Cummings.

Police in Columbia County, Georgia are asking for help in locating 15-year-old Isabella “Bella” Leola Carter from Martinez. Isabella is assumed to have run away and was last seen on Monday, January 11th in Martinez.

Isabella is a white female, blonde hair, blue eyes, 5’2”, 150 lbs. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, white tennis shoes and a gray jacket.

Anyone with information pertaining to the disappearance is asked to call the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office at 706-541-2800.

Updated 1/13/10 – Columbia County Investigators are reporting that Carter is safe and at home now.

According to the Sante Fe, New Mexico Sheriff’s Department Stephen Hilla picked up his three children who he shares custody with their mother from school on Tuesday, ostensibly to take them to lunch. Hilla and the three children have been missing ever since. His ex-wife attempted to get in touch with him after he didn’t show up after lunch and has been unsuccessful.

Hilla does have a history of criminal violence and police believe that he may be headed toward Wilmington, North Carolina, which is his home town and supposedly he has a job waiting for him there. The Sheriff’s Office checked with his current employer in New Mexico and according to them he hasn’t shown up for work in several days.

The three children are Justin (10), Timmy (10) and Emily (8). Hilla is 6’4″, 170 lbs and has blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen driving a dark blue Dodge Ram 1500 two wheel drive pickup with New Mexico license plates 1001-PTD. He may also have two dogs with him as well, a black Chow-Labrador mix and a red and tan miniature dachshund. Hilla is on probation for domestic battery and is considered dangerous.

Updated 12/11/09 – Hilla’s record of arrests includes DUI, Aggravated Assault, Shooting Inside a Dwelling, Tampering With Evidence, Abandonment or Abuse of a Child (several times), Battery, Aggravated Domestic Battery, Driving With a Suspended License and Civil Actions for Breach of Contract.

On the 8th Hilla was tracked as far as Amarillo and an officer even ran his plates but at that point in time there was no warrant out for his arrest.

Since the cause of death is still under investigation it is being investigated as a possible homicide.

While it’s been longer than just a few months back, in November of 2007 Justin Gaines went missing from Wild Bill’s, a bar which is a short distance away from where the body was found.

Justin and a friend has been partying at Wild Bill’s and his friend had already gone home for the evening. When Justin called him later on to try and get a ride home he was unable to provide it. Justin was never seen or heard from again.

Updated 12/15/09 – The remains have been identified as belonging to a female victim between 15 and 21 years of age. They are being investigated as a homicide but police have not released the cause of death.

There was clothing found with the remains that police have described in hopes of identifying the woman. They include American Eagle jeans, a light green T-shirt, a black and red Old Navy t-shirt, a fruit of the loom t-shirt, a white and red v-neck t-shirt, an orange polo style shirt, Mossimo jeans, black shorts, black sweatpants with a maroon and gold stripe, a black sports bra, a leopard print bra and black plaid boxers.

Updated 12/17/09 – The remains have been identified as 16-Year-Old Maritza Yepez, who has been missing since August 23rd.

The girl, who was living with her aunt at the time of her disappearance, was reported missing as a runaway. She was identified through her dental records.

Police are investigating her death as a homicide and suspect that she was murdered.

Back on June 18th two women who were last seen leaving the Sam’s Club in Bentonville, Arkansas around 5:30 p.m. disappeared without a trace. 81-Year-Old Louise Bishop and 40-Year-Old Christiana (Christina) Bishop Johansen were missing for several days before a concerned family member went to their house to check on them. Their groceries were still on the counter in the kitchen.

In addition to the women their ’97 black Toyota pickup truck was also missing. It was found several weeks later in the parking lot of Club Hots, a local strip joint, with “Free Car, just tow away” scrawled on the windshield in what appeared to be red lipstick. It was finally discovered when the strip club had the car towed. They towing company ended up contacting Louise Bishop’s nephew. He told them not to touch the truck anymore and contacted the police, who had it towed to the Arkansas State Crime Lab.

There have been very few leads in the case until recently. From the little that the Bentonville Police Department has released, 18-Year-Old Nicolas James Johansen of Garefield, Arkansas, the son of Christina Johansen, gave them inconsistent statements during questioning and has been arrested in the murder of the two missing women. Bentonville PD aren’t releasing any more details in the case because it is still an active investigation.

2/17/10 – Johansen has finally been charged with murder in the death of the two women after an inmate at the Benton County Jail has reportedly led police to what appear to be the women’s remains not far from where Johansen lived with his father.

Proctor, who also goes by Misty, has several tattoos on her arm, wrist, back and leg. She is 5’2″, 136lbs. Her MySpace profile lists her as single but she does have at least one child who I know would like to see Jessica.

One thing I found curious is that on her MySpace page the father of her son left the comment on November 12th “hope u know u loose all progress and i dont plan on talkin to ur fucked up ass anymore and im sick of the fuckin lame ass excuses”.

28-Year-Old Kelly Currin Morris went missing on September 3rd 2008 when she allegedly went to look for the family dog. Her husband, Scott Morris, said that she just ‘never came home’. The thing is, he didn’t report her missing until September 4th when there was a fire at the Morris home, so the search didn’t begin until then. Her 2005 Honda Accord was located about a mile from the home, locked, with her purse, cell phone and keys still inside it.

On the 10th of September the Granville County Sheriff anounced that during the search a ‘dim light’ of hope remained in their minds but that everyone was afraid something bad had happened to Kelly.

September 12th it was announced that the fire was an act of arson. At the time some of the searchers publically wondered why Scott Morris hadn’t taken part in the search for his wife. By the 14th Morris was named as a ‘person of interest’ in her disappearance. According to commenters on other sites and interviews with neighbors there was a feeling of strife in the marriage. The official search effort stalled around this time and although searchers would continue looking for her body law enforcement was at a loss to explain what had happened to Kelly Currin Morris, beloved mother of two small children.

Over the last year rumors have trickled back and forth on several blogs from commenters who state that Scott Morris had killed someone prior to Kelly’s disappearance and gotten away with it. Obviously these are just allegations and I have yet to find anywhere with an actual report or media release on the subject.

David Lohr over at the Criminal Report Daily, along with Blink on Crime (linked as the source) are both reporting that the remains of Kelly Currin Morris may have been found. Details in the discovery are pretty sketchy right now but the human remains have apparently been found at a fox hunting club in Creedmoor, North Carolina.

Police took William Scott Morris into custody last night and booked him at the Oxford Magistrate’s Office. Police are not releasing the reason for his arrest. The Granville County Sheriff is reporting, however, that there will be a press conference today at 4 p.m.

A judge signed a court order granting temporary custody of the children to Kelly’s parents. A hearing on that will be held Friday.

I was at work Wednesday morning when I received the Levi’s Call (Amber Alert) for the one-year-old daughter of Cara Ann Williams of Jonesboro, GA. I think I may have passed it on to Twitter but that was about it. Turns out that Cara may have stretched the truth just a bit where that was concerned. Maybe more than just a bit.

28-Year-Old Cara Williams called police on Wednesday and reported to 911 that her daughter had been abducted around 6 a.m. by her ex-boyfriend (the father of the child). The alert said that the boyfriend was possibly armed and dangerous. Police cancelled the Levi’s Call when the little girl was found safe in Maryland with the boyfriend, who has custody of the girl and has been living there for the last two months.

Williams is currently lodged in the Clayton County Jail on charges of False Report of a Crime and Giving False Statements.

15-year-old Charlie Mendez of Whiting, Indiana has been missing for two weeks today and has not been seen or heard from since. The high school freshman left her house around 7AM on September 4th for school, which is the last time anyone in her family saw her.

The school admin called sometime Friday to report her absences and after calling several of her friends her father reported Charlie missing. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, beige pants and white gym shoes.

Charlie is reportedly a good student who had just been offered a chance to be an exchange student to Australia and there were no problems at home.

Original Post – Acworth GA Police are searching for 33-year-old Michelle Creager who has been missing since August 27th. She was last seen in the area of Cobb Parkway near Blue Springs Rd. Police say that they don’t suspect foul play but Michelle is in need of her medication.

Leah Freeman would be 25 today. Her murderer still has not been brought to justice but her mother, Cory Courtright continues to press for justice.

Coquille, Ore., Oct. 27, 2009 – Cory Courtright continues her quest

for justice in the murder of her daughter, Leah Freeman, even as she

faces another painful anniversary on Thursday, Oct. 29 – the day that

would have been Leah’s 25th birthday. Freeman’s life was cut

tragically short when, at fifteen years old, she disappeared while

walking home in Coquille, Ore. the night of June 29, 2000. Her body

was discovered in Fairview, a wooded town eight miles outside of

Coquille, more than a month later on Aug. 3, 2000. After an autopsy

was performed, it was determined that Freeman died from homicidal

violence.

Nearly a decade after her death, the murder remains unsolved and

Courtright is making a plea to local law enforcement, “I am simply

asking Coos County District Attorney Paul Frasier to dedicate a cold

case team to re-investigate Leah’s murder. I don’t feel like the

agencies handling the case have ever been in sync and with all of the

personnel changes at the Coquille Police Department I fear that

crucial details of the investigation could very well have fallen

through the cracks.”

Courtright says she was aware of an active investigation before her

daughter’s body was found, but has heard very little about other

developments in the case since that point in time. Legal documents

that were released to the public several years ago detail the initial

investigation. Search warrants were executed on Nicholas McGuffin,

Freeman’s boyfriend at the time of her death, and his friend Brent

Bartley, two of the last people known to have had contact with her

before she disappeared. Additionally, both McGuffin and Bartley

submitted to polygraph examinations and failed. McGuffin failed the

polygraph when asked key questions in regards to Freeman’s

disappearance and Bartley partially failed the polygraph when asked if

he had knowledge of what happened to her. A grand jury was scheduled

for August 2000, but called off following the discovery of Freeman’s

body. No suspects have been named in the case.

In June, Coos County District Attorney Paul Frasier explained to local

media that while the case is considered “cold,” investigators remain

follow-up on tips, they need to have a dedicated team go back and look

Law Enforcement in Gilmer County, GA are searching for missing 14-Year-Old Josh Chastain who was last seen Tuesday night around 10 p.m. when the family went to bed for the evening. He was noticed missing at 6 a.m. this morning and reported to the Ellijay Police.

The Gilmer County Sheriff’s Department says that there has been no indication of foul play and that Chastain does not have a history of running away.

Josh is 5’7″ tall, 165 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes and wears glasses.

Wednesday Evening 24-Year-Old Deniecia E. Lester sent a text message to her husband letting him know that she had been kidnapped (gonna be late for dinner honey, I’ve been kidnapped). As a result Fulton County Police along with the help of United States Marshals desperately searched for her in Clayton County on Thursday after an alert was put out.

Lester was finally located Thursday night around 9:30 p.m. at an apartment in Clayton County. FAIL! She hadn’t been kidnapped at all, just needed a bit of time with her boyfriend. Ooops.

Lester was arrested and charged with False Report of a Crime. She had a court appearance earlier today, was granted $5,000 bond and was put into a treatment diversion program. Seems like she already had her diversion but whatever.

Kristi Cornwell has been missing now for two weeks from Blairsville as she was walking and law enforcement seem to be no closer to finding her than they were then. Her family announced a $50,000 reward on Saturday for her safe return and/or the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for her abduction.

They are also still accepting donations in order to increase the reward.

For the most part I generally stick with cases that are currently in the news or update ones that I have written about before but every once in a while I will post a cold case. This is one of those.

14-year-old Amber Leeanne Dubois has been missing from Escondido, California since February 13th of this year and while her case may be considered “cold” there are still searches going on for her and she will always be fresh in the minds of her family. I came across The Charley Project earlier this morning and that’s where I ran across Amber’s case. I think it caught my eye because she shares a birthday with my eldest daughter who will be 12 this year.

According to the entry at the Charley Project Amber was last seen walking in Escondido on her way to school. There are several confirmed sightings of her that morning as well as a couple of likely ones as well.

She doesn’t have a history of running away and although her parents were seperated at the time she seemed to have a pretty stable and loving home life with her mother and her mother’s boyfriend, both of whom have been ruled out as suspects.

The Westbrook Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 5-year-old Devon Carter who is being criminally restrained by his father Gene A. Carter in violation of a Court Order. Gene Carter is a Gorham resident, but may have travelled out of state with the child, possibly to the Chelsea, Massachusetts area. The Westbrook Police are seeking the public’s help in reuniting Devon with his mother.

Gene Carter was last seen driving his Grey 1991 Cadillac Deville in Tewksbury Massachusetts on Saturday, August 8th. Gene Carter is described as a 51 year old male, 6′ tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. Westbrook Police will be obtaining a Felony warrant for Carter charging Criminal Restraint by a Parent and Violation of a Protection Order.

Gene Carter is being asked to contact the Westbrook Police and the child’s mother immediately to confirm that Devon is safe.

Update 2 8/15/09: About three and a half miles from where law enforcement have been concentrating their search efforts a man cutting his lawn found a cell phone yesterday. The Union County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that it is the cell phone belonging to Kristi Cornwell. Hopefully they can get more information from the cell phone. The only other leads they have right now are two cars that witnesses say were driving slowly through the area of Jones Creek road.

Updated 8/13/09: I’ve found a picture of Kristi Cornwell and have added it to the post. When I get a better one I will add it as well.

According to the GBI they have found some of her belongings in the area where she was last seen walking but they won’t release any information that is possible evidence. They are also looking to question several persons of interest, criminals with lengthy legal backgrounds that live in the four counties around that area. I will update the story as needed.

A lot of people have posted comments on her Facebook page, waiting for her to be found. Having been a couple of days now those hopes are fading and I am afraid that something bad has happened to Kristi.

Original Post: According to local papers and newscasts 38-year-old Kristi Cornwell was last seen walking along Jones Creek Road in Blairsville and hasn’t been seen or heard from since then. The GBI and Union County Sheriff’s Department are working together and have very little to go on right now.

Cornwell is a white female with dark hair, five feet five inches tall and weighs in at about 150lbs. The area she was walking in is a rural area close to her house in Blairsville.

According to an emailed report from the Cobb County church that Cornwell’s boyfriend Douglas Davis attends, he was speaking with her on the phone as she walked. She allegedly told him a car was stopping near her and then started screaming “Don’t take me”. Kristi Cornwell’s family and Davis have all declined to comment so far.

Anybody that has information that might be relevant to the case has been asked to contact the Union County Sheriff’s Department at 706-439-6066. Just as soon as I get a picture of Kristi Cornwell I will update the post with it.

I’m not sure exactly what it is but something about this strikes me as odd, aside from the fact that she is missing of course.

Over the weekend the case of the missing Blairsville woman, Kristi Cornwell, aired on America’s Most Wanted and a tip phoned into the show led investigators to Kings Mountain, North Carolina.

The search itself left law enforcement with no leads to go on and the caller chose to remain anonymous. North Carolina Emergency Management said that they were also going to have cadaver dogs out today in the search.

I meant to post an update to my original entry but I might as well put it here. I mentioned in my first post on Kristi Cornwell that the whole phone call thing just didn’t seem right to me but police have ruled Cornwell’s boyfriend out as a suspect which leads me to believe that he had an alibi or that they did a trace on his location when she called him.

As I mentioned yesterday, the family is now offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to Kristi’s safe return and/or the arrest of the person or persons responsible for her disappearance.

Update – The search in NC ended around 6 last night and as far as law enforcement can tell the tip was bogus.

I’m going to keep this post short and to the point. I took the evening off tonight to enjoy a movie with my girls but they are in bed and I noticed that I had several breaking news alerts concerning the discovery of a girl who was kidnapped in 1991 and the arrest of her captor, an American version of Josef Fritzl. There are several other sites that are already covering this in depth and so I will link to them at the bottom of the post.

The gist of the story is that 11-year-old Jaycee Lee Dugard was abducted in 1991 right in front of her step-father who was watching her walk to catch the school bus. Phillip Garrido, a convicted sex offender has been arrested along with his wife Nancy for keeping Dugard in a shed in his back yard for the last 18 years along with her two children whom Phillip Garrido fathered.

Yuck.

Update – The Vancouver police department has identified the boy pictured above and returned him to his family at home. There’s been no comment why there was no missing persons report filed and the incident is under investigation.

About 5AM this morning Vancouver was flagged down by a citizen who had found a small boy walking in the area. Police searched the area for the boy’s parents but with no success. Nobody has reported their child missing in the area and the police have very little information to go on.

The boy says that he is three years old and his name is Andrew. He is 41 inches tall, 35 lbs and was found in a Buzz Lightyear long sleeve pajama top, tan pajama bottoms with green and navy blue dinosaurs.

Update – Kayce was located earlier today with a man in his thirties and refused to return home, leaving with the man. Law Enforcement has been contacted. I will somewhat update this later although as these are folks I deal with on a daily basis don’t expect much of an update.

17-Year-Old Kayce Dukett (MySpace) has been missing from her Tallapoosa, Georgia home since September 16th and her family is extremely worried. Kayce has run away and left a note but they still want to make sure she is OK. Kayce has run away before.

The New Orleans Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a possible runaway. 16-year-old Jamie Williford has been missing since July 6th and may still be in the New Orleans area or she may have headed toward Mississippi where she also has relatives. Jamie is white with blonde hair and hazel eyes, 5’4″, 120 lbs. She is also confined to a wheelchair as a paraplegic. She may be seeking or in need of medical attention.

According to the NOPD Williford is a habitual runaway but as with any runaway child this should still be treated as any other missing person case as she is still in danger.

One thing that struck me about this case is that the story I have linked to as my initial source says that she was last seen by Mrs.. Laura Miller and gives a contact number for Mrs Miller yet on one message board over at Topix a Lee Hyatt from St. Louis who claims to be Jamie’s aunt has no clue who Mrs. Miller is. Foster mother perhaps?

From what I have been able to gather 29-year-old Alejandro Humberto Guzman (I’ve seen it spelled Gusman as well) was in town for a scheduled visit with his daughter. He was supposed to drop Ingrid off with her mother (Also Ingrid Reyes) at her workplace. He called her instead on Monday and told her that he was keeping the girl and going to Houston. I have also seen conflicting reports (links at the bottom of the post) that Guzman called Reyes on Tuesday or Wednesday threatening to kill their little girl. According to CBSAtlanta the family of the little girl told them that Guzman had threatened to kill her unless they gave him $5,000

The two may be traveling in a gray 1993 Honda Accord with Texas plates NCK136.

Ingrid is about 3′ tall, 30 pounds, Hispanic, has brown eyes and straight shoulder length brown hair and was last seen wearing pajama bottoms and a pink barbie shirt.

Guzman is 29, Hispanic with Black eyes, brown hair, 5’10″, 180 pounds and keeps his hair short on top and long on the sides. He also usually wears a blue baseball cap with a “T” on it.

The partial remains that were found include the rib cage, spinal column and parts of the right and left legs. An initial examination was not able to determine the sex or race of the remains, much less who it was. The Illinois State Police Forensic Crime Lab is expediting a DNA analysis and hopefully will have more information in the next couple of weeks.

The partial skeletal remains of someone have been found on the south bank of the Des Plaines River near Channahon, Illinois according to officials there. An autopsy was being conducted earlier today in order to try and identify the remains. The Illinois State Police are on the scene of the discovery conducting more searches to see if they can turn anything up.

Two unsolved missing persons/possible murders in the area have prompted discussion of the find. One of course is Stacy Peterson who disappeared in October of 2007. Her husband Drew Peterson has been in the mainstream media for quite some time now and has recently pleaded not guilty in murder charges stemming from her disappearance.

One other missing person from the area is Lisa Stebic from Plainfield, Ill, which is about 15 miles from Channahon. Lisa disappeared in April of 2007 and her husband Craig Stebic has been named as a suspect in the disappearance. Let’s hope that for the families of one of these women we might have finally gotten a little closer to finding out what happened.

Gibsonton, Florida — Deputies are looking for a 16-year-old girl who disappeared from her home Tuesday night.

Myraenereyda Campos was last seen doing laundry on the front porch, the sheriff’s office said.

Her
brother went looking for her shortly before 10 p.m. and could not find
her. Her mother says the child has never left home before.

The police were called in and over a week’s time the Stephanie Condon Task Force recovered the remains off the private property they were located on. The were sent to the state crime lab to be examined. This morning Douglas County deputies announced that the remains had positively been identified as Stephanie Condon. They still don’t have a cause of death in the case and although they plan to continue examining the skeleton it’s unlikely that they will be able to find out exactly how Stephanie perished. Police are still hopeful though that this is just one step closer to apprehending the scumbag that took Stephanie Condon.

According to police (as well as this map) there are over 30 44 sexual offenders living in the area, one right in the neighborhood. Police say that they have either questioned or will be questioning all of them. Police are also questioning the father and his girlfriend although they won’t say if they are suspects or not.
