    Newton High School Ex-Coach James Carter has been fired from his position after having been arrested for Enticing A Child For Indecent Purposes. Carter was lodged in the Newton County, Georgia jail and posted $2,950 bond.

    Last month officials in Newton County were informed that James Carter had been sending inappropriate messages to a 15-year-old High School Student. The parent of the teen discovered the messages on an iPod and during the investigation police were able to recover the sexually charged messages from Carter’s cell phone.

  • Patrick Ahern Charged With Sudden Snatching?

    Back on September 27th the father of a 16-year-old girl caught his daughter in bed with a naked 27-year-old Patrick Thomas Ahern of Dacula. The two were necking but apparently had not yet advanced to intercourse. Rather than beat the shit out of Ahern with the nearest blunt object (obviously the father has a hell of a lot more control than I do) he grabbed his daughter’s cell phone in an attempt to snap a photo of the nude Ahern. Patrick snatched the phone before he could do so…and took off running. Police later recovered the phone in the woods.

    The father contacted the police department and on October 1st they finally assigned an investigator to the case. Last week she finally decided she had enough probable cause to charge Ahern and took out a warrant for his arrest…on charges of “Sudden Snatching.” WTF? Sudden Snatching? Is that what they are calling it now? I can understand the whole snatch part but sudden? Oh wait…the charge has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING whatsoever to do with the fact that this 27-year-old scumbag was sleeping with a 16-year-old GIRL. Sudden Snatching is basically the equivalent of Purse Snatching. They were able to tag him with the robbery charge because he grabbed the cell phone.

    Anyway, Ahern was arrested on October 26th and lodged into the Gwinnett County Jail (where he has been no stranger) and posted $2,400 bond a few hours later.

    Up until recently Ahern was a coach for Atlanta Fire United, a soccer league in Gwinnett. Prior to that he coached a Dacula team where he coached girls on two different teams…16-and-under and 13.

    Before you ask…yes a background check had been done on Ahern, who has been arrested eight times in Gwinnett County since 2003. He only has one conviction though, a DUI in 2009.

    Apparently Gwinnett County decided that since the age of consent in Georgia is 16 they could not charge him with a sex crime. I’m not 100% about this but I do know that in the case of someone who is in a position of authority over a minor that age is bumped up to 18. That covers folks like teachers but I’m not sure about lay coaches (he is/was the girl’s soccer coach.)

    I’ll tell you one thing, my oldest daughter is 15 and were I to catch a grown man in bed with her it would be me they would be putting in jail.

  • Updated – Crime Blogger Sued For Posting About Rape

    As a crime blogger I’ve had various people threaten to sue me from time to time. Most of them are horseshit and the closest thing to any type of legal action I’ve received are a couple of cease and desist letters which I have chosen to ignore.

    Thanks to Morbid over at The Dreamin’ Demon I came across this story from a couple of days ago. Apparently a lawsuit has been filed against Alexandria Goddard of Columbus, Ohio. Goddard runs a site called Prinniefied.com. Prinniefied is a crime blog I haven’t been to before but follows the same generic theme that most of us as crime bloggers do, facts about the crime, links to related stories and sources and a bit of opinion on each. Sound familiar? Hell, Alexandria Goddard claims to be opinionated but from what I’ve seen she’s pretty tame but well-written) in her stories. You’ll find a lot of real information and facts but nothing about douchebags and skags, at least not in the headlines.

    Now that I’ve rambled on and on here’s the story. A girl was raped by at least two football players in Steubenville, Ohio and the act was photographed and/or filmed by several other teens at the scene of the crime. Did they try and stop the two fucknuts? Hell, no. Did they report the heinous act? What do you think? What they DID do was post about it on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The parents bringing the law suit against Goddard are James and Johna Saltsman, whose son posted this pic which I blatantly stole (removed due to the fact that I shouldn’t have posted it in the first place) from Prinniefied and edited.

    The lawsuit also names 15 other people as defendants using the fictitious names they used on her site, According to the story I linked to above,

    Blake (the attorney representing the Saltsmans’) in his lawsuit is seeking an injunction to prevent Goddard and the other as yet unknown defendants from disseminating any false and defamatory statements regarding the Saltsman’s. The lawsuit wants Jefferson County Common Pleas Judge David Henderson, who was assigned the case, to issue an order for defendants to remove the alleged false and defamatory statements regarding the Saltsman’s from the Internet.

    Some of the tweeters referred to the drunk victim as the “dead body”. The great majority of the videos and tweets have now been deleted. Fortunately law enforcement SHOULD be able to recover them from YouTube if they wish. When videos are deleted from YouTube they aren’t really deleted, at least not right away.

    The two football players for Big Red were initially arrested in August and charged with Rape and Kidnapping. The kidnapping charge was dropped and it’s now being reported that the two have been released from the detention facility and will be charged as juveniles, which is why I haven’t posted their names. What does matter is the bad parenting involved as well as a lot of bad leadership in the school and local legal system.

    The two boys will be electronically monitored and are not allowed to go back to their school, instead having to attend alternative school. They are only allowed to go to public places if their parents are taking them. They also cannot have any type of contact with the victim or any potential witnesses in the case.  A pre-trial hearing has been set for mid-December. During the hearing at which the above was decided the victim’s mother was called and testified on what her daughter has had to go through. The defense also called character witnesses for one of the two teenagers including football coaches and a guardian who testified about academic records and other awards the teen had one. Considering that most of the tweets and other incriminating photos were by members of the football team the fact that his coaches testified is pretty damned suspect.

    And oh by the way, here’s something else I found interesting. One of the “boys” who testified was 18-year-old Anthony Craig. Anthony took a picture of the rape “in case the victim didn’t know what was happening”. The he deleted the picture.

    Anthony Craig, 18, said he could see the victim getting more drunk throughout the night.
    “Just the way she handled herself and was walking and talking to people,” Craig said.
    He said he went to Cole’s house where Cole showed him a video of what happened in Cole’s car.
    Craig, who admitted to having a relationship with the victim, said he saw the victim naked in Cole’s basement. He said he saw Richmond laying beside her but couldn’t tell what Richmond was doing. He said Mays was smacking his penis off her side.
    Craig said the victim was not responsive or participating.
    Craig said he tried to tell Mays, his best friend, to stop it, and told him not to do anything he will regret.
    Craig said Mays told him, “It is all right … don’t worry.”
    When asked how it feels to testify against his friend, Craig said. “It kills me.”
    Craig said he took a picture of the incident in case the victim didn’t know what was happening. He said he later deleted the picture from his cell phone.
    Craig testified Mays sent him a naked picture of the victim the next day.

    So why isn’t Craig (an adult) being charged with the Manufacture of Child Pornography?

    According to the Herald Star,

    City Police juvenile detective Jean-Philippe Rigaud said the victim couldn’t say if she was raped because she couldn’t remember what happened. The detective said there was no photo or video retrieved that showed Mays conducting a sexual act.

    WTF?

    There is a charge against one of the boys of Illegal Use of a Minor in Nudity-Oriented Material but that’s it as far as I’ve been able to ascertain.

    I’m sure to post more on this at a later date. Forgive me creating a jumble that doesn’t make much sense. I’ve been doing a bit of reading on the case all morning and writing it up at the same time and I am very angry about it.

    Updated 11/3/12 – Apparently Prinniefied has had not one but TWO Twitter accounts suspended, most likely due to complaints from the plaintiff’s attorney in the lawsuit (I am just assuming here). WTF is up with that?

    Updated 11/5/12 – As loathe as I am to defend ANY of the douchebags involved in the incident I do have a couple of things to say. First off the kids who posted the videos and Instagram pics (like the one above)… They should be charged with the production of child pornography or sexting or something of the sort. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear as if that is going to happen. They do need to pay for their CRIMES which is exactly what they are but as far as I’m concerned sending bullying posts and tweets straight to their account are:

    Sending tweets to their account about what douchebags they are? Really? Grow the fuck up and act like an adult. I will tell you one thing, I have no problem naming adults involved in it as I did with Anthony Craig. He’s 18 and while he’s probably not much more adult than the other kids LEGALLY he is. The Saltsman’s kid? Nope, he’s a minor.

    I’ll retweet all day long about the first amendment and how the pending lawsuit against Alexandria Goddard is wrong but sending bullying tweets to the CHILD of the parents who are suing her? No, I don’t think so and if you are one of the ones involved in that then go fuck yourself. You’re not welcome here and you should be ashamed of yourself.

    Updated 11/6/12 – I saw it mentioned over at the Stinky Pamper (I do love the name!) how actually posting the photo of the victim being carried might constitute harassment  I don’t know about that but after I thought about it I realized it was just pretty bad manners so I’ve deleted it. While the post wasn’t directed toward this site they certainly had a good point. Thanks!

  • Pace Academy Teacher Joey Villemez Arrested For Child Porn

    A (former) teacher with Pace Academy in Atlanta has been arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography after a federal investigation.

    William “Joey” Villemez, who holds a Bachelor’s in Theater from Georgia College , taught drama to middle and high school students at Pace, a private school in Atlanta. He was fired from his position as soon as the school learned of the charges. He was employed there for seven years.

    The following letter was sent home to parents Monday afternoon,

    Dear Parents,

    I am writing this email with a truly heavy heart. Earlier today, I was made aware of a very sad and distressing situation involving a Pace Academy faculty member. Middle and Upper School Fine Arts teacher Joey Villemez has been arrested and charged with possession of child pornographic images, which were purchased from his home computer. These images came to light as a result of a multi-year federal investigation, which we learned about today.

    Mr. Villemez is no longer employed by Pace Academy. We are cooperating with federal agents as they continue their investigation. I want to stress to you that, according to federal investigators, Mr. Villemez has not involved any current or former Pace students in this situation, and there is no evidence of inappropriate physical contact between Mr. Villemez and Pace students or other children. Mr. Villemez has no record of previous criminal activity.

    Our faculty was made aware of the situation immediately after school today, and we will meet with students in the Middle and Upper Schools tomorrow morning. The emotional wellbeing of our students is our primary concern at this time. This news is incredibly shocking and upsetting to all of us in the Pace community, and we know that healing will take time.

    We also know that this will be difficult to explain to students, but I believe that it is best to be clear and honest with them. I would advise every parent to use his or her discretion in discussing these matters with their children; however, as much as we might want to shield them from the situation, this may serve as an opportunity to discuss the pervasive issue of pornography in our culture. I also encourage you to bring any concerns to my attention immediately.

    We are working with our faculty, counselors and outside experts to ensure that we are prepared to handle any questions or issues that arise as a result of this situation. Please know that our counselors and administrators are available for students and parents with questions or concerns.

    We will continue to share pertinent information as it becomes available and welcome questions during this difficult time.

    School officials planned to meet with middle and upper school students this morning.

    Updated – Villemez was arrested in the same multi-year investigation by the United States Postal Service that snared a Paideia janitor recently. According to the AJC Villemez admitted that he had downloaded and saved child porn to his computer when he was questioned by federal agents.

    The investigation centered on a movie company from Canada that offered child pornography for sale through the mail and Internet. Back in May of 2011 a search warrant was executed on the production company and agents seized customer lists and other various electronic and printed records. Villemez was on those lists.

  • Florida Teacher Arrested on Sex Charges

    What a shocker!

    32-year-old Plant City, Florida resident Jeffrey James Halle, Jr. allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old female student in an empty classroom at C. Leon King High School during the spring semester.

    Halle and the girl had apparently arranged to meet again this month. When he showed up at the girl’s home he tried to play it off like he was the parent of one of her friends but the father recognized him as a teacher and confronted the douchebag. Halle left and the parents called the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. According to WTSP the father had also intercepted text messages between Halle and his daughter.

    He was arrested Monday and charged with Sexual Battery, Traveling to Meet a Minor and Prohibited Use of Computer Service and Devices. Even though the sex was consensual they are able to charge him with sexual battery because he is in a position of authority over the girl. He was lodged in the Hillsborough County Jail and is currently out on $90,000 bond since Tuesday evening.

    The school district also sent him a letter notifying Halle that he can’t return to King High. If he doesn’t resign they will suspend him without pay pending the investigation.

    Halle previously taught at Freedom High School and then Plant City High School before moving to King in 2009.

    I did want to mention that while I post about a lot of teachers (and several other sites do as well) I do want to put it in perspective. Hillsborough County, Florida employees 12,000 teachers. That’s ONE county out of thousands across the country. Only 10 teachers in Hillsborough County have been accused of sex with students over the last 8 years, since Debra Lefave. That’s less than 1/10th of a percent and doesn’t even count educators who may have retired or moved to other careers. I firmly believe in education, particularly because my high school science teacher wife would kick my ass if I didn’t.

  • Former ROTC Instructor Accused Of Sex With Student

    57-year-old Mitchell Sivas of Thomson, Georgia has been indicted by a McDuffie County Grand Jury on a charge of Sexual Assault by a Person With Disciplinary Authority. He was charged on April 11th and is currently out on $10,000 bond.

    Sivas is a former Junior ROTC instructor at Harlem High School as well as a retired Army Colonel. I say former because Thomson resigned back at the beginning of March when the Principal confronted him about the relationship. The victim was 17 at the time but has since graduated.

    Sivas will be formally charged and arraigned in a hearing that will most likely happen in July.

  • Arizona Teacher Had Sex With At Least Four Students

    This is actualy a bit of old news but since I’ve just recently gotten the site back up and running recently there is a bunch of it out there.

    33-year-old Melissa Dalton from Oro Valley, Arizona was arrested back on April 30th after details of alleged relationships she had at Ironwood Ridge High School started coming out.

    Dalton, a first-year art teacher, was originally charged with four counts of Sexual Conduct With a Minor. Since she was arrested more students have come forward and eight more charges have been added.

    Dalton originally denied the allegations but eventually fessed up and admitted she had allowed things to go too far. Once of the students claimed he had sex with her in an art room and another classroom as well as in her car. Her cell phone was seized after a student told police that she had sent him picture messages.

  • Private School Teacher Busted On Sex Charges

    A former private school teacher in Miami, Florida who had moved away two years ago returned to South Florida to have sex with a previous student.

    54-year-old Thomas Patrick Keelan, an Oxford educated private school teacher, is accused of having sex approximately 60 times with a 15-year-old student in 2009 and 2010 before he moved to Roanoke, Virginia to be the head of the English department at North Cross School. Keelan taught at Miami Country Day School for several years and then moved to a Miami Beach Hebrew Academy prior to moving to Virginia.

    Back in May the student, who is now 17, started working with police and placed several calls to Keelan. During those conversations he expressed his love for the girl and said he planned to travel back to Miami to have sex with her. He promised to meet her at the same hotel in Hollywood where they’d met on several previous occasions. During one of the calls he masturbated while on the phone.

    Keelan ended up making a seven night reservation at the hotel and on June 15th drove down to Miami. Much to his surprise the police were waiting for him at the hotel.

    Keelan had a court appearance in front of a U.S. Magistrate Judge on Monday and was charged with Attempting to Entice a Minor to Engage in Sexual Activity and Traveling in Interstate Commerce for the Purpose of Engaging in Sexual Conduct With a Minor. He’s been lodged in the Federal Detention Center in Miami.

    Police believe that there may be more victims and urge anybody with more information to contact the Florida Department of Law Enforcement or their local police department.

  • Little Wildcats Has Some ‘Splainin To Do…

    According to the great State of Georgia, hiring a convicted felon in a child-care is against the law but that’s apparently what the Little Wildcats Academy in Villa Rica has done. It’s possible that they didn’t know about it but that would mean that they didn’t do something as simple as a background check. Heck, it’s free basically and takes only a few minutes.

    34-year-old Mysti Owens was released from Pulaski State Prison on Halloween of this past year. She’s actually done three stints in jail so far on charges of Possession of Meth, Possession of Narcotics as well as Burglary. As a convicted felon and a repeat offender at that, she has no business working in a daycare but that’s apparently exactly what’s going on.

    According to CBS Atlanta Mysti has been working at Little Wildcats in Villa Rica. According to the story over at CBS Owens claims that the daycare center as well as at least one parent knows about her past and that convicted felons deserve another chance.

    I’ll agree that once you’ve paid your debt to society you do deserve another chance but damn sure not at a day care center. Aside from the fact that it’s just ethically wrong it’s also AGAINST THE LAW.

    The reporter, Bernard Watson, attempted to speak to someone at the daycare but nobody would talk to him.

  • Northern Tennessee Teacher Arrested for Drugs…Again

    62-year-old Stephen L. Pebley, a former Campbell County, TN teacher for more than 30 years, was caught shooting up Roxy in a middle school parking lot earlier this week and arrested.

    Pebley is currently facing charges of possession, possession of paraphernalia and violation of a drug-free school zone.

    The Jacksboro Middle School resource officer walked up to Pebley’s car around 2:30pm Monday afternoon after he noticed the Buick Regal parked next to the football field. Pebley was in the driver’s seat with a tourniquet around his left arm while his buddy, 34-year-old Cory Clay Overton, was in the middle of shooting up.

    Both men admitted to pulling in to the parking lot so they could cook up some Roxy.

    Pebley was originally arrested in Claiborne County in 2007 when deputies raided a meth lab. Pebley pleaded guilty at that time to conspiracy to make meth and he just finished his three-year probation sentence earlier this month.
