Meet Rev. William Bendert of Kings of Kings Lutheran Church in Lake Orion, MI. The Reverand was arrested Friday in Troy at the Red Roof Inn, after attempting to solicit sex with an 11 year girl. According to the charging documents FBI Investigators said Bendert had engaged in several online conversations with someone he thought was a mother and her 11 year old daughter… but guess what?   It wasn’t, it was the FBI Investigators. Through emails he is said to have expressed that he wanted to “educate the girl about sex.”

Excerpts from Bendert’s alleged emails:
“I don’t have the guilt gene. So, don’t worry about me crying later.” real nice Pastor Bendert.

A meeting was arranged with the Good Pastor, where he was arrested and charged with soliciting a minor. Investigators are looking into other e-mails from Pastor Pervy that allege he had arranged meetings with atleast 3 other minors.

The Church issued a statement stating they were shocked and deepely saddened to learn of the arrest and are cooperating fully with law enforcement.

Back around 1997 a woman who was 15 at the time and now living in Arizona was allegedly raped twice by Ernest Willis, a deacon at Trinity Baptist Church in Concord, New Hampshire.

The woman alleges that she ended up pregnant because of the rapes and that when she reported the rape and pregnancy to her parents and church officials the pastor, Chuck Phelps, blamed her for it. The church made her stand in front of the congregation and apologize for getting pregnant and later a pastor in Colorado, Matt Olson, talked her into writing a letter of apology asking Willis’ wife for her forgiveness.

Her parents later shipped her off to Colorado where she was forced to give the baby up for adoption. Police did have an open investigation in 1997 but it ended up being shelved since they couldn’t locate the victim. They have reopened the investigation after old friends and online posts led police to the woman.

Now 51-year-old Ernest Willis has been arrested and charged with Rape and Having Sex With a Minor (two counts each). He’s currently out on $100,000 bond and is to be officially arraigned on Wednesday, June 16th.

Pastor Chuck Phelps is now the pastor of Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Indianapolis. He claims that he reported the rape to police and child welfare official within a day of it being reported to him (which is when they opened the initial investigation) and also says that the Concord Police never called him or did anything. According to the former pastor of Trinity it was the victim’s mother who made the decision to move her to Colorado and he just helped her find a family to live with. He also stated that “I was the first one to report this to police, as was my duty…the people who didn’t do their job was the Concord Police Department.” That’s all fine and dandy but then this asshole states that he told her to “be responsible, don’t allow yourself to be around a person you know to be dangerous. She knew this person was dangerous after the first time but she continued to be around him…She needed to be responsible” So basically what he seems to be saying is that maybe it wasn’t the girl’s fault she was raped the first time but the second time she was molested it was her fault? While I believe that he probably did his part in reporting it, his statements are certainly callous enough.

It gets even weirder. Apparently one of the reasons that the victim had not reported the rape is that church members had told her not to report an earlier rape by a convicted sex offender who was also a member of the congregation as well as part of the victim’s family (her stepfather)  She expected them to tell her the same thing.

Trinity Baptist Church has a message up on their home page stating that,

In reviewing the events of October 1997, the present leadership is seeking answers for the victim, our congregation, as well as our entire Concord community. The prayers of our entire church are for justice to be served to the alleged perpetrator, and that mercy and care will be extended to the victim.

Updated 7/8/10 – The case against Willis is now headed to a Grand Jury for indictment. Willis has waived his right to a preliminary hearing and remains free on bond.

Back in 1985 Gilbert Gauthe was convicted of Child Molestation and Child Pornography in Lafayette, Louisiana. As a matter of fact he’s one of the first Catholic priests publically accused of sexually abusing multiple children. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison but in our governments attempt to make sure pot smokers are kept locked up for a good long time by releasing violent predators he was released for good behavior after nine years.

Ten months later he was arrested in Texas for molesting a three-year-old boy. He pleaded No Contest and got seven years probation from that little stunt. In ‘97 he was arrested and charged with the rape of a woman twenty years prior. After spending a couple of years in jail waiting for trial the charges were dropped.

In 2008 Gauthe was arrested when he was living and working in Galveston and was discovered to not have registered as a sex offender. He has been sitting in jail for the last two years and has been  released again. He will apparently be living in Sante Fe, Texas (just a few miles from Galveston Island).

Gauthe is suspected of molesting at least 100 children. The various convictions and charges he has faced over the last 25 years don’t even cover half of them. As a matter of fact there are allegations of molestation and complaints of improprieties as far back as 1972 in Broussard, Louisiana.

Hopefully the folks in Sante Fe will keep one eye on their children and another on this scumbag.

Back in 2005 57-year-old Dale Fushek was arrested on several charges involving sex with children. The Monsignor, and second-highest ranking official with the Catholic Dioceses in Phoenix, Arizona, was accused of fondling seven young boys while he was working at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Mesa back in the ‘80s.

Rather than seek the maximum penalty for this predatory pedophile the prosecutors in Arizona offered a plea deal which Fushek took. He was able to plea guilty to a misdemeanor charge of Assault and everything else has been dismissed. In return Fushek received 364 days of probation.

The Catholic Diocese in Phoenix issued the following statement after Fushek’s guilty plea.

The Diocese of Phoenix was informed today that Dale Fushek entered a plea agreement with the Maricopa County Attorneys Office regarding charges of a Class 3 Misdemeanor Assault. Fushek, a former priest of the Diocese of Phoenix, was laicized by Pope Benedict XVI in December of 2009. The Diocese of Phoenix is saddened when ever a member of the clergy has engaged in inappropriate contact with a minor. As Catholics, we are aware of the anguish of those affected by these tragedies including victims, families, parishioners and the general public. Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted asks that everyone pray to God for healing in the lives of those involved.

In accord with Diocesan policy and procedures, the Diocese cooperated with the Maricopa County Attorneys Office in its investigation. For nearly 20 years, the Diocese of Phoenix has maintained and continually updated a comprehensive policy and a set of procedures for the protection of minors to assist the Catholic community in prevention, reporting and healing of sexual misconduct and sexual abuse. The policy and its procedures underscore the Dioceses firm commitment to make informed decisions about the fitness of accused priests; to cooperate with civil authorities in the investigation of all allegations; and to encourage victims to come forward. As always, Bishop Olmsted and the Diocese of Phoenix encourages anyone who has experienced sexual misconduct or abuse by a member of the clergy or by any worker in the Church to make a report to local law enforcement and to contact the Office of Child and Youth Protection at (602) 354-2396.

Someone please explain to me why we have such a disparaging difference in the way people are prosecuted and why the residents of Arizona shouldn’t be horrified with this sentence. On one hand you have people like Brandy Mullikin who I wrote about this morning or how about some of the guys that are 18-20 that get caught with their 16-17 year old girlfriends. They end up branded as sex offenders and get jail time along with their lives being screwed and here we have a serial predator who basically gets off with a slap on the wrist. 

Back at the beginning of March a total of 22 people were arrested during a five day prostitution sting in West Mobile, Alabama. One of the fine Alabama folks that were arrested was 49-year-old William Curtin.

What sets Curtin apart from most of the others is the fact that he is a Methodist pastor for two churches, St. John UMC in West Mobile and The Grace Place UMC in Semmes, in addition to being a city planning commission member for Mobile.

Curtin was charged with Patronizing a Prostitute. He has resigned his position on the commission and has been suspended from his pastoral duties for a formal inquiry and investigation.

A Grand Jury in Fairbanks, Alaska has indicted 31-year-old S. Anthony Justice on 12 counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.

Justice was hired by the Corinthian Baptist Church in Fairbanks in 2007 and led the church until his dismissal in August 2008. During the time he was the pastor he met a 15-year-old girl and engaged in suspicious activity with her which may have ultimately led in his being dismissed such as inappropriate text messaging although the trustees of the church say that his leadership was lacking. Several of the congregation and one of the trustees filed a lawsuit after he was dismissed, saying that it was incorrectly done.

After he was removed as pastor the relationship between Justice and the 15-year-old girl apparently heated up and became sexual. A warrant for Justice arrest has been issued but of course he has fled and is believed to be here in Georgia.

Back when 54-Year-Old Reverend Ralph Lee Aaron was the pastor of
Victory Baptist Church in Andalusia, Alabama he was accused of
allegedly making a sexual advance toward a child. He ended up not being
charged in the matter since it was not a felony (which meant that the
statute of limitations had run it’s course before the complaint was
filed), but this was just a harbinger of things to come and perhaps of
activities he was already involved in. This was back in 2005. That was
also about the time that he set up this Yahoo profile.
Prior to that he was involved with the Samson Baptist Church in Samson,
Alabama where he was mysteriously fired after being their pastor for
six years.

Aaron was fired from Victory Baptist and moved to
Grace Christian Fellowship (of course none of the wonderful
‘christians’ at Victory bothered to warn anyone at Grace, which is a
non-denominational church in town. Aaron must have thought he was safe
or just didn’t give a shit because he has been charged with 152 sex
crimes including making child pornography, disseminating child porn,
sexual abuse of a child under 12, sexual torture and sodomy. The sexual
torture charges allegedly came about because of a sex toy he was using
on them. Four reported victims have come forward so far, their ages
ranging from 8 to 12 years old. Police are also including his wife and
daughter among the victims as well.

This douchebag was
apparently raping his victims on camera in his home, his backyard and
even on camping trips. He is currently lodged in the Covington County
Jail in solitary confinement for his own protection. His bond right now
is set at $24.2 Million. Christ on a crutch, that’s some serious dough
and not something that this fucking pedophile is likely to come up
with.

When police raided Ralph Aaron’s house they took several pieces of computer and camera equipment. So far
they’ve found over 100 child porn photos, some downloaded off the
Internet and some taken by him.

According to police Aaron is completely lacking remorse for his heinous deeds and seems more concerned with his situation.

Aaron has a print-on-demand book entitled Focusing the Eye of the Soul (although from the sound of things perhaps it should read focusing on the brown-eye of the soul) and according to the blurb on the back

collegiate background includes attendance at Mobile University, Troy

He’s also listed as having been a youth minister as well.
