About the Site
At Captain Obvious’ Crime Site we welcome both your suggestions to make the site more user friendly as well as new crime stories.
There are a couple of avenues you can use to suggest new crime stories. One is to use the ‘Contact Us’ link at the top of the page (better if you prefer to remain anonymous) or you can head over to the Forums and write a post yourself. It may just get featured here on the front page if it’s interesting enough. Make sure not to use any personal attacks in your story and keep it on topic. No need to name names if they weren’t involved in the crime itself. Be aware that just as the law considers the accused innocent until proven guilty, try not to let conjecture get in the way of facts. If at all possible include links to documentation, charges as well as to your sources.
As far as commenting goes we are trying to foment a community of folks that are interested in crime as well as the folks that commit those crimes. Try not to use personal attacks on each other. I reserve the right to edit your comments if I find them to be too degrading, etc…Shit happens but try to keep the profanity to a minimum, mainly because I want to attempt to keep my ranking in Google if nothing else. I am not bothered in the least by profanity but some people seem to be and a couple of ill-placed cuss words can really lose your point on a lot of people. This is my site. If you disagree with me that’s OK. Keep it civil or leave. Should you choose to personally attack me or any of the other members of this community I reserve the right to publish your email address for all to see along with any other URLs or information I may find on the Internet that belongs to you. If you are a racist, hater or troll and are only here to foment racism and hate the same thing applies.
