35-year-old Matthew Boyer from Neosho, Missouri, a (now) former school board member, has been arrested and accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl and of possessing nude images of another minor on his computer at home.
The alleged victim of Boyer told detectives with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office that she had sexual intercourse with Boyer twice in September of 2009 at his house while she was still 16. During the course of the investigation police also found images of a 17-year-old local girl as well.
Boyer was a member of the Westview School Board at the time but has resigned since he was arrested. He was lodged in the Newton County Jail charged with Statutory Rape and Possession of Child Pornography. Bail was set at $125,000.
In 2007 Boyer (MySpace) was charged and convicted of Child Endangerment for lifting a six-year-old girl by the arm and dropping her to the ground in June of that year. He received a 60-day suspended jail sentence and two years of unsupervised probation. He also pleaded guilty to Nonsupport in 2006 and received probation for that as well. Just who I would want on my school board, someone who can’t even take care of his own children and sleeps with the students. NOT!
