26-year-old Joseph Nathan Riddle II and his father 64-year-old Joseph Nathan Riddle Sr. of Sterling Heights, Michigan attended an informal traffic hearing where Junior was contesting a speeding ticket earlier this week.
It should have been a pretty minor matter. The problem began when the Riddles didn’t agree with the judge’s ruling on the matter and both of them started to argue loudly with the magistrate and then refused to leave the courtroom.
When officers attempted to escort the two men out of the courtroom the Riddles responded by fighting with them. Both of the men ended up having to be tasered and placed in handcuffs in order to get them out.
Both men have now been charged with Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer. They were arraigned yesterday afternoon and bond was set at $1,000 for each of them. Damn, I guess I would have just paid the speeding ticket.
