Former Cop Matthew New Arrested For Molesting Children

38-year-old Matthew A. New is a nine year veteran with the Tyrone, Georgia police department. He was arrested on March 11th on a charge of child molestation.

As the investigation has been ongoing police have found that more than one child was victimized, including one that New is related to. He is now facing 40 more charges including Sexual Battery, Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes and Child Pornography. His computer was seized during the investigation.

New was put on administrative leave by the Tyrone Police Department after the Fayetteville PD informed them of the investigation on February 2nd and as of the 24th he has resigned during a completely unrelated investigation from Internal Affairs for policy violations.

Sounds like an all-around dirt-bag if you ask me.

    I actually live in Tyrone, and had had dealings with this officer (simply being pulled over, a dispute at my home, basic things, etc.). He was around my children (never alone with them, thank god!), so you can imagine my distress upon learning this! The majority of the police officers on the Tyrone Police Force are corrupt, and when Fayette County is questioned about their practices or complains about them, Fayette County will tell you that “Tyrone PD plays by their own rules”. As a resident, I have heard that a certain Seargent Dean Johnson (also on the Tyrone force) had been caught raping a 9-year old girl. Now, I've as of yet been unable to find evidence of this, but if you are able to, please post it. This man caused a woman who had been fighting with Fayette County DFCS after her children were taken (Tyrone P.D. went into her home and executed a search warrant improperly-aiming guns in a 7 year old's face and DESTROYING her home throwing clothing everywhere, trash, and allowing her dogs inside and to defecate on the floors, then told her and her boyfriend they were not allowed to clean up the mess and called DFCS and had the children removed stating that they had not executed the warrant yet) and returned on bogus claims of abuse on her oldest son because he wore his new hat to school and it happened to cover a scratch he nor the rest of the family could explain. She's still fighting for her children to go home and that jerk is why she's even still fighting in the first place. If you find that he really did that, I would love to know, because he'll get a “lovely” letter in jail asking what kind of A$$HOLE would think that he has the right to have children taken from their loving homes when he is RAPING them?! What is our justice system becoming today?! Seems to me like it's justice to the highest bidder, and law enforcement officers (not all, though) seem to think they are gods! It's ridiculous!

    Captain Obvious…..you have no idea what you are talking about when it concerns Matthew New…..I know for a fact that the accusations were planned by a family member and all of the allegations are false…..have you not ever heard of an ex-wife getting revenge…..I am a christain and I know that God will not continue to allow this man to suffer as he has.

      Of course I have, which is why the story is pretty sanitary for the most part. Here’s the problem with that though, they aren’t going to charge him with child pornography because of accusations a wife has made without some sort of proof to back it up.

      Also, why did he resign from the Tyrone PD? Shits and giggles?

        AMEN Capt Obvious!!!!!! You can try & set someone up all you want but if they don’t have substantial evidence, they can’t charge him. Well, they did…as of this week. 140 years to serve! You don’t 140 yrs for something you DIDN’T have ANYTHING to do with.
