While I enjoy a nice alcohol buzz as much as the next guy, getting drunk and having sharp objects around is just not a real good mix. Just ask Wilfredo Baltazar’s wife.
52-year-old Baltazar was at his Tampa, Florida home getting nice and hammered when his soon-to-be ex-wife got home from work. Not being one to waste a good drunk Wilfredo decided to start fighting with his wife. When the argument apparently didn’t go Baltazar’s way he grabbed his machete and started after his wife, who bolted from the home.
When police arrived Baltazar was still at the house and according to the police report the man indicated that he was too drunk to understand English or Spanish. Nevertheless he was arrested for Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon and lodged in the Hillsborough County Jail on $1,000 bond. He was released earlier today on said bond.
Judging from his DUI arrest in 2008 Baltazar must like his booze and I wonder if that is at least part of the reason for he and his wife’s estrangement.
