35-year-old Charles Clarke was a coach at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School in Atlanta up until recently. He worked as a part-time swim coach for the school until his arrest and subsequent termination by the Atlanta School System.
Clarke was arrested at the end of January and charged with Child Molestation, Aggravated Sodomy, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Statutory Rape, Sexual Assault, Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes and Battery. Clarke is currently lodged in the Fulton County Jail.
Atlanta police opened an investigation after a student at the Middle School confided to her mother and a counselor that Clarke had raped her. The man allegedly took the 15-year-old girl to the Fulton Inn Motel, gave her drugs and alcohol and then raped her.
