This past Wednesday 44-year-old Alan Houston Johnson of Davidson, North Carolina was on a flight to Denver from Chicago when he broke out with a serious case of pervertitis.
About 40 minutes outside Denver the captain got a call from the purser who told him that a man had allegedly groped two flight attendants and also rubbed his genitals up against a passenger.
According to the arrest affidavit from FBI special agent Joel Nishida,
About 30 to 40 minutes into the flight, M.R.M. served beverages to passengers seated near Johnson. As she pushed the beverage cart by Johnson, M.R.M. felt someone grab her buttocks. M.R.M. was uncertain if the incident was an accident. About five minutes later, while collecting trash, M.R.M. walked by Johnson who again grabbed her buttocks with his hand. M.R.M. knew it was not an accident that Johnson grabbed her buttocks during the first and second incidents. M.R.M. told flight attendant L.D.G. about the incident. L.D.G. told M.R.M. that she had also been grabbed inappropriately on the buttocks by Johnson. M.R.M. did not give Johnson permission to grab her buttocks.
In addition to groping the two flight attendants Johnson cornered a passenger on the plane as she was leaving the restroom and “ground” his crotch area on her backside as well. Later on in the flight after the flight attendant stopped waiting on the people in Johnson’s area he basically threw a cup of water at the attendant as well.
After the flight landed Johnson was detained at the Denver Airport and interviewed, denying all of the incidents.
Apparently the man is a serial offender though. On February 8th Johnson was arrested by the Mecklenburg, North Carolina Sheriff’s Office and charged with Sexual Battery after he grabbed a student at Central Piedmont Community College and kissed her on the lips, uninvited. He is also believed to have been involved in another incident on the 2nd where an unknown male grabbed a student and attempted to force her to kiss him.
It gets even better though. Three more recent sexual battery incidents at the Charlotte, N.C. airport involved Johnson as well, all similar. They didn’t result in any charges.
Updated 11/19/10 – Johnson was found guilty this week on charges of interference with a flight crew and abusive sexual contact on an aircraft in Federal court. He faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced.
Updated 2/26/11 – Johnson was sentenced yesterday in Federal court to 27 months in prison. In addition to the assaults on the two flight attendants he faces accusations of having sexually assaulted an addition eight women in different incidents.
