33-year-old Tanya Nareau, a convicted felon, has been arrested again in Mesa, Arizona for allegedly trying to trade her 2-year-old daughter for a gun.
Nareau, who felt that a friend of the family would be a better parent than she is, contacted the friend and offered to give them the toddler in exchange for a gun, which she couldn’t legally buy as a convicted felon. A few days later she showed up at the home and left her daughter even though they didn’t have a gun to give her.
The friend, also a relative, spoke with police and confirmed that they had the child and what Nareau had offered. She has been lodged in the Maricopa County Jail charged with Unlawful Sale of a Child and Solicitation to Possess a Weapon by a Prohibited Person.
The little girl is now with her father’s family. I don’t know where the father is but jail would be a good guess.
