Old Posts

I’ve just imported a bunch of old content from another crime blog I used to run. None of the pics are there and about half of them were imported with the date December 1969 which is very weird. I don’t feel like editing them one by one right now so that won’t change. I’ve imported them mainly for the search engine traffic. Eventually I will import a bunch more, there are quite a few fucktards there.

Author and owner of Captain Obvious’ Crime Site. I have been blogging in one form or another since the days of Fidonet and BBSes in the early nineties. Started blogging in it’s current form around 10 years ago and got seriously interested in crime in 2005, about the time Natalee Holloway vanished. I’ve been hooked ever since.

  • Oh dang!! It worked! But what is that strange language at the bottom of my comment now???
  • I've fixed that. The plugin author is French.

    :)
  • Darn. I thought it made me sound fancy. Now I'm back to plain April with now fancy accent.

BTW - You are so good to me!  We have been asking Trench for an edit button FOREVER!!  I feel so spoiled over here.
  • I won't tell if you don't. There are a bunch of "edit comments" plugins. I think it's just finding one that works with a given site.
  • Well - two thumbs up to you for finding the right one! It'll be our secret. Well.... Ours and anyone who reads this thread.
  • Southern Lady
Caught you. It's a secret no longer. I'm going to tell EVERYONE. Or no one. Your choice.
  • Tell everyone.... But then tell them that he took away my edit button. Perhaps pics of me in my panties will bring it back......
  • Damn, I'm on it :)

Actually that's one of the things I miss since I moved the comments to DISQUS. I will add that as a request.
  • YES!!! I didn't even have to show hm my panties. Good thing too - I usually play that card for jewelry. But that doesn't mean I totally wouldn't do it for an edit button.
  • Sign up at disqus instead of commenting anonymously and an edit button should show up for you on your comments.
  • What a pain in the ass.... will my little pixie pic go away? Or can I keep it?
  • No disqus uses gravatars. Dreamin demon and at least one of trench's sites also use disqus and the one account works everywhere

Look here. It's worth a shot. I'd adore an edit button. I get spoiled to them, actually.
  • another try

    Now try it.
  • well that shit doesn't work well.

  • I'm probably the only one who needs it. I never read back my comment before I commit to it. Curse me and my careless ways!

    modify modify modify????
  • Now try it. It's a pretty ugly screen, I'll try and work on that. You do have to be logged in to edit your own comment. Right now it's a 90 minute window but I'll expand that if I keep this plugin.

  • And now the edit button is gone. Whoa. It's like I'm on cold medicine with a hangover. There / not there / there / not there
  • I am messing with a couple of things trying to get the edit button to work.

  • The edit button is there but didn't edit the original post.
  • Add it in, let's try this again... :-P

  • testing the comment editing function.

    Seems to work so far.
  • and a logged-out test.
  • added it in, let's try this again.
