42-year-old Donovan Keith Jewell and his wife 41-year-old Nancy Ellen Jewell of New Port Richey, Florida were staying in a La Quinta Inn in Tampa with their eight-year-old daughter for New Year’s. Unfortunately it seems that it was more of a vacation for the parents than it was for the little girl, who woke up around 4 a.m. on New Year’s Day and couldn’t find her mommy.
The little girl made her way to the hotel lobby in search of her parents and whoever was on duty contacted the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department, who in turn called the Seminole Police Department and learned that Donovan Jewell had a Player’s Club card that was in use.
Deputies were able to locate the Donovans at the Hard Rock Casino and charged them both with Child Abuse by Neglect. They are both currently lodged in the Hillsborough County Jail. Originally they had $2,000 bond but that has been reduced to $1,000 for Donovan for some reason.
