Dennis Allaben Killed His Wife

This is really one of those sad stories that, for now at least, there is no explanation as to why.

46-year-old Dennis Ronald Allaben has reportedly killed his wife, local “food stylist” and set decorator for The Mo’Nique Show, 43-year-old Maureen Allaben (MySpace 1 – she has an older one she hasn’t logged into in over a year).

According to the Dekalb County GA police, Allaben killed his wife this past Sunday, wrapped her body and placed her in the bed of his pickup truck. He then drove his two children in the truck to Chesterfield, VA and left the kids with family on Monday, telling them he had killed his wife. It isn’t known if the children knew whether or not their mother was dead in the back of the truck during their drive.

Allaben took off from the house before his family could do anything and made the drive back to Atlanta. Early Tuesday morning he showed up at Clayton County Police headquarters, walked in and told them he had killed his wife and that she was in the bed of his pickup.

Dekalb County detectives have no idea why Allaben killed her and a search of their home in Tucker has turned up no evidence of foul play. They aren’t releasing the cause of death at this time.

Allaben is currently lodged in the Dekalb County jail with no bond (criminal case details)

    Maureen was a friend of mine. She was an awesome woman, a fantastic co-worker and a viciously proud mother. It is a sad day that such an honestly ‘good’ person was taken from this world. The only remaining hope is that her children can somehow navigate their future and find happiness, joy, and maybe forgiveness. What I do know is that if either of her two kids is 1/4 the person Maureen was the world will be a better place.
