Updated – Comments Update

Provided that it proves able to import my existing comments I am going to be using Disqus comments for a while. This provides for people to be able to comment on the site without signing up. You can use Facebook, Twitter or Disqus to login rather than my site. It also allows for posting a comment without having to refresh the page.

My existing comments are still here but since they haven’t imported yet they aren’t showing up.

While Disqus will allow for comments from non-members, if you want to access the forums or the social networking stuff you’ll still want to sign up for an account here.

I will try it out for a few days and see what I think. I may end up going back to the normal WP commenting system.

Update – Scratch all of the above. I tried three times to get Disqus to import my comments and it errored out each time. I will have to come up with some other option to get twitter and facebook working properly. I may enable commenting for everyone but only members get their’s approved automatically.

Update II – Facebook login for posting comments seems to be working OK now. Provided I don’t start getting a ton of comment spam I’ll leave it as is. Now to find some way to use Twitter Oauth for comments.

Update III – Twitter authorization is working now as well, although it seems to throw the comments into my spam folder. I’ll have to work on that as well as the placement of the button.

Started blogging in it's current form around 10 years ago and got seriously interested in crime in 2005, about the time Natalee Holloway vanished. I've been hooked ever since.
