Andrew Jerome Hall has a history with law enforcement that stretches back to 1991 when he was charged with Theft. In 1996 he escaped from prison and in 1997 he was arrested for False Imprisonment which is what eventually landed the man on the Georgia Sex Offender Registry.
He absconded (failed to report/register) almost three years ago, Unfortunately there just aren’t enough police to chase after every absconded scumbag so unless they commit another crime in the process, a lot of times they aren’t caught.
Hall did commit another crime though. On January 5th he attacked his 29-year-old ex-girlfriend in Savannah, punching, kicking and finally stabbing her. 911 was called by several witnesses but by the time they arrived Hall had gone.
Over the last three weeks Savannah/Chatham police along with U.S. Marshalls have been searching for Hall and finally caught him late Wednesday night. Hall has been lodged in the Chatham County Jail charged with Cruelty to a Child, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery and Violating a Superior Court Probation. He is being held without bond.
Hall has been in prison four times, the last time for failure to register.
