Shadowscope's Sick Crimes

28-Year-Old Seron Edshon Shepherd has been arrested and lodged in the Cobb County Jail on charged of Child Cruelty and Involuntary Manslaughter after police found her seven-month-old son dead. Law Enforcement was called to assist with a medical emergency call on Sunday in Austell, which is when the body of the boy was found in the house.

After having investigated the scene and getting the autopsy results Seron Shepherd was arrested. In addition to the first two charges they have also charged her with Deprivation of a Minor (sounds like she must have starved the baby) along with Reckless Conduct involving her other three children, a 21-month-old and 7-year-old boys and a 4-year-old girl.

The three children who are still alive were removed from the home and placed in the custody of the Department of Family Services.

Shepherd is being held on $100,000 bond.

Updated 12/9/09 – According to police reports Seron Shepherd put her baby in a battery powered swing right next to a space heater and left the child there for seven hours before realizing that the child had second and third degree burns on the legs, feet and genitals.

Christ, I’ve let my kids nap in their swings when they were small, but leaving them there for seven hours overnight? WTF?
