Family Ties Star Brian Bonsall Charged With Assault

How’s that for a damned where-are-they-now photo. Life has obviously been not quite so kind to 28-Year-Old former child actor and punk rocker Brian Bonsall, who played youngest son Andy Keaton on Family Ties, the sitcom with Michael J. Fox, although I have the feeling that it comes mostly due to bad choices on Bonsall’s part. Bonsall also played Alexander Rozhenko, the son of Worf, on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Bonsall, who already had a bench warrant out for him for violating probation he received after assaulting his girlfriend three years ago, was arrested on December 5th after he assaulted a friend, hitting him over the head with a broken bar stool at an apartment in Boulder, Colorado. Bonsall lives in Westminster, about 20 miles south of Boulder.

Bonsall was charged with Assault and lodged in the Boulder County Jail on $7,500 bond. He was still in jail as of 6:00 a.m. this morning on charges of 3rd-degree Assault and 2nd-degree Assault.

Someone who has access to Brian’s MySpace page or possibly a wannabe thug logged into the account on December 11th, during the period of time he has been incarcerated.

In 2001 Bonsall was convicted of DUI and in 2004 he was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

Seriously, with a tattoo like that on his neck, how could he expect to be anything OTHER than a punk musician? Pretty much sets his course for life, but then, that’s just a lady’s opinion.
