Updated – Trial Postponed for Racist Troy Dale West

47-Year-Old Troy Dale West of Poulan, Georgia was arrested back in September for allegedly beating a woman as she was leaving the Cracker Barrel restaurant in Morrow in front of her daughter after she said something to him when he almost hit her daughter with the door as he was coming inside.

West allegedly became enraged and while shouting racial epithets at her he beat and kicked her. Employees of the Cracker Barrel ended up having to come to her aid.

West was charged with Aggravated Assault, Cruelty to Children, False Imprisonment, Battery and Disorderly Conduct. West finally was released on bond after his family pleaded with the judge.. He was scheduled to have a court appearance in Jonesboro but that has apparently been continued. I don’t have the date for the next hearing but will update this once it becomes available.

Updated 7/16/2010 – The trial has been delayed yet again and it will be at least October before this goes to court.

Author and owner of Captain Obvious’ Crime Site. I have been blogging in one form or another since the days of Fidonet and BBSes in the early nineties. Started blogging in it’s current form around 10 years ago and got seriously interested in crime in 2005, about the time Natalee Holloway vanished. I’ve been hooked ever since.

    Well hell yeah. Most of us raised in the south are used to being spit on. Can't count the curses thrown in my direction. But still. Man beating woman? Not quite right. Time to put him away. Time to skin him alive, cover him with honey and stake him on a fire ant mound.
    Just not quite right. I mean, we can understand various angers for the way they are still being treated, and being a strong minded female myself, I'd fight back against the so called system should I be born of darker melanin.
    But still. Not quite right.
  • I agree. Had she been attacking him with a weapon maybe I could see decking her but that's about it. He has been defending himself by stating that she cursed at him and spit on him. Still no excuse for hitting her.

    It's guys like this that make me ashamed to be white. No matter what the woman said to him, you don't beat on females. Period.
